Crafting the Big Boss Tiles

The six office tiles are glued onto a light cardboard that is roughly the thickness of the original components, then cut out along their outer edges. A ruler and a craft knife are the best tools for cutting.

Rules

The usual rules of Zooloretto: Boss apply, with the following additions.

Setup

The six office tiles are placed face down on the offer board.

Game Play

Attention! In the first round the six office tiles lie face down on the offer board and may not be bought. At the start of the second round they are turned face up and can be bought from then on.

II. Purchase or Surrender of a Tile

Purchase: The player buys any office tile from the offer board and places it on any free office space on his office board. He covers the printed office space with it. The office tile counts from then on as a normal office space and stays there until the end of the game.

The player may only cover an office space on which no employee stands. He may not cover an office tile with another office tile. The player may not buy an office tile that he already owns.

Translator's note: the page prints the heading "Kauf oder Abgabe eines Plättchens" (Purchase or Surrender of a Tile), but only the purchase half appears on this page. The surrender ("Abgabe") half is not printed here and is therefore not transcribed.

Bonus for Employees

A. Consultant (2x): If the player has an employee on the office tile depicted at the top, he receives 1 coin from the bank each time he receives one or more coins as a bonus for occupying the last space of an enclosure. The player may have at most one Consultant.

Example: Anne fills the five-animal enclosure. As usual she receives two coins, and for her Consultant she receives one additional coin from the bank.

Note: If the player has the Consultant and the Donation Collector from Zooloretto: Boss, he receives 1 coin and 1 donation from the bank each time he receives one or more coins as a bonus for a full enclosure.

Note: The player receives no coin for coin tiles from the transport wagon, or for coins he receives by buying from an opponent.

Translator's note: on the printed page these two notes sit in the right-hand column, above the Controller; they are placed here because they qualify the Consultant's coin bonus.

B. Controller (2x): If the player has an employee on the office tile depicted in the middle, he receives 4 plus points at scoring for each donation he owns. The player may have at most one Controller.

Example: Dirk has a Controller and 4 donations. He receives 4 x 4 = 16 points.

C. Personnel Manager (2x): If the player has an employee on the office tile depicted at the bottom, he receives 3 plus points at scoring for each employee on his office board. The player may have at most one Personnel Manager.

Example: Claus has a Personnel Manager and 2 employees in his zoo. He receives 2 x 3 = 6 extra points.

If Zooloretto is played with Aquaretto, the player receives no plus points from the Personnel Manager for Aquaretto employees.
