Game Summary

When it is your turn, roll the dice one by one in any order and try to place the dice on the board after every single throw in order to create an ascending or descending number sequence. After your third roll, the other players can wager if they believe that the active player will score more than 50 points. The player who scores the most points after three rounds wins the game.

Game Preparation

The board is placed in the middle of the table. Each player selects one of the six golden wager fields. Then each player takes a golden wooden disc. Leftover discs are placed back in the box. Have a pen and paper ready to use. And here we go!

Gameplay

The youngest player starts and the game continues in a clockwise direction.

Whoever's turn it is (the "active player") rolls a dice and places it on one of the nine grey fields on the board.

Next, take one of the remaining dice, roll it and place it on another free field. Do the same with a third dice as well. Before you roll the fourth dice, the other players are allowed to make a wager (see "The Wager" on page 7).

After the wagers are made, the active player rolls the fourth dice and places it on one of the other free spaces. Repeat this procedure for the fifth, sixth and seventh dice.

Placement Rules

When placing the dice, the following rules apply:

  1. Once a dice is placed, it may not be moved.
  2. The dice on the placement fields must be either in ascending or descending order. Only one dice may be placed on a field if this results in a valid sequence of numbers.
  3. Dice that lie on two adjacent fields may have the same number of pips or differ by more than 1.
  4. For each dice whose colour matches the colour dot about the placement field, extra points are awarded (see "Scoring" on page 7). There are no colour dots on the two outer fields - they result in 10 minus points when a dice is placed there.

Examples of possible number sequences are shown as dice diagrams on page 6.

The OUT! Field

If a dice cannot be placed (because it would break the sequence rule), it must instead be placed on the OUT! Field under the dice strip. Each dice placed here gives the player 20 minus points.

The Wager

After the active player has rolled three dice, the other players have a chance to make a wager. Anyone who believes the active player will score more than 50 points can place their disc on a wager field on the board. If you do not wish to bet, simply keep your disc in front of you. You can win a lot by making a wager, but you can also lose a lot... so it is best to use your disc at the proper moment!

Scoring

As soon as the active player has rolled all seven dice and placed them on the board, the score will be tallied up.

  • If the player could set all 7 dice on the Placement Fields, they receive 50 points, but collect 10 minus points for each dice on one of the two outer fields. If there is at least one dice in the OUT! Field, the player does not get the 50 points (also no minus points for any dice on the outer fields).
  • If the player has not placed all seven dice on the Placement Fields, each dice on an OUT! Field counts as 20 minus points.
  • Regardless of how many dice the player was able to set on the Placement Fields, all colour-matching dice are moved the corresponding colour dot. The more colour matches a player achieves in their turn, the more points they get (see game board):
Colour matchesPoints
1 match10 points
2 matches30 points
3 matches60 points
4 matches100 points
5 matches150 points
6 matches210 points
7 matches280 points

Furthermore, players who have made a wager win or lose points. If the active player has reached more than 50 points, each player who has made a bet will receive half of the points won by the active player.

If the active player has scored 50 points or less, then all players who wagered will receive 20 minus points.

The points are noted, the discs are returned and the next player clockwise has a turn.

Scoring Example

Jana could already place 6 dice on the Placement Fields. Her last dice is red and she rolls a 4. This dice fits perfectly on the third field! Now it's time to tally the score. She gets 50 points because she could place all 7 dice, but gets 10 minus points for the black dice on an outer field. Three of the dice match the colour dots and therefore she gets an additional 60 points. In total she gets 100 points!

However, if Jana had rolled a 3, she would not have been able to set it on a Placement Field and would have had to set it on an OUT! Field. Therefore, she would not have received any points for the dice on the Placement Fields (but also not the 10 minus points for the dice on the outer field), 20 minus points for the red dice on the OUT! Field and still 60 points for the three colour matches. She would have got a total of 40 points.

End of the Game

The game is over as soon as each player has had three turns. Then all points are added together. The player with the most points wins the game!

Transcription Notes

  • The source prints "oft he turn" in the game-material box; it is read as "of the turn" here.
  • The source prints "moved the corresponding colour dot" in Scoring; the sense is that matching dice are placed on the corresponding colour dot. Transcribed as printed.
