Presentation and Setup

  • 36 hexagonal pieces divided into 3 sets: 12 dark, 12 light and 12 neutral.
  • 1 board with 8 spaces for placing the pieces.

Two-Player Game

  • The players sit facing the board.
  • Each player receives 12 pieces in their own colour (light or dark), then 6 neutral pieces. Each player therefore has 18 pieces in hand.
  • A random draw determines who begins.

Goal of the Game

  • Create the longest possible chain of pieces of your own colour (fig. 1).

Course of a Game

  • On each turn, the player places one of the pieces in hand (neutral or of their own colour) on the board (fig. 2).
  • As soon as this is possible, the player may play on pieces that have already been placed (fig. 3).
  • It is not permitted to pass your turn.

End of the Game

  • The game ends when all 36 pieces have been placed (fig. 1).
  • The player who has the longest uninterrupted chain of pieces of their colour wins the game (fig. 4).
  • Caution: when a chain is counted, it is forbidden to pass through the same piece twice (fig. 5).
  • If both players have chains of equal length, the winner is the player with the second longest chain, and so on.

Three-Player Game

  • Each player receives 12 pieces.
  • There are no neutral pieces.
  • The course of play is the same as for the two-player game (see above).

Duration

  • A game lasts 10 to 15 minutes.
  • In a tournament, each player may be allotted a time limit for the game.
