Overview

The first player to play all their cards onto the iceberg the fastest, while keeping the iceberg intact, wins!

Follow the instructions on the card played by the previous player, and load up the iceberg with rocks of ice and penguins... The iceberg is shaking! Argh! Yikes!

Everyone can enjoy the fun.

Follow the symbol on the card played by the previous player. After putting the iceberg card and/or ice card on top of it, you can play your own card on top of the iceberg.

  • If you play all the cards you have, you win!
  • If you break the iceberg, you lose!

Contents

  • 48 sea/ice cards
  • 18 pieces of ice
  • 1 starting card
  • 14 iceberg cards
  • 4 penguins
  • Rules (English/Japanese)

Setup

Starting number of cards:

  • 2 players x 10 cards
  • 3 players x 8 cards
  • 4 players x 6 cards
  • 5 players x 5 cards
  • 6 players x 4 cards
  1. Shuffle the sea/ice cards well. Place the sea cards in a donut shape with the sea face-up. Set up the base of the iceberg in the center of the ocean like the one pictured here, with a folded iceberg card at the base, and the starting card on top. The iceberg cards are folded into a U-shape and used.
  2. Each player draws the designated number of starting cards from the sea. That's your hand. Start with the starting card on the iceberg card, then let's put them out to sea.

How to Play

  1. The player who recently had ice cream is the start player. Check the instructions on the card at the top of the iceberg (e.g. put some rock ice out, place a penguin, another iceberg card). The starting player follows those instructions. Rock ice and penguins are not allowed to be placed on the topmost card.

The cards in your hand go to the top. The penguin is on the second row from the top. Put the ice piece in the lowest number of rows with ice pieces on them, anywhere in the same number, any color.

Then choose a card with the same color or symbol as the top card on the iceberg from your hand and stack it on top of the iceberg. If you don't have a card to play, draw a card from the sea. If you can play a drawn card, you should play it. Turn order goes in a clockwise direction. If the person before you fails to play a card, the next person does not have to complete the instructions on the top card. They continue by playing another card from their hand.

  2. When you have one card left in your hand, shout out "Penguin!" If you forgot to say it, draw a card from the sea when you remember (or someone points it out).

When there are no new ice pieces to put on the iceberg, move an ice piece on the bottom row to the top. If all ice pieces are on the second tier from the top, you don't need to move them.

If a penguin or ice piece falls, the person who dropped it will put it back in place. If the iceberg doesn't break, the game will continue.

What does "breaking the iceberg" mean?

The game ends if multiple cards fall from the iceberg stack into the middle of the ocean. The game continues if only penguins, rock ice, or the card you just tried to place falls.

End of the Game

The winner is the one who can play their cards as fast as they can without breaking the iceberg!

  • If a player plays all their cards: The player who played all their cards wins! You cannot end the game with an Aurora card. If the last card is an Aurora card, draw a card from the sea.
  • If a player breaks the iceberg: The player with the fewest cards in his or her hand, excluding the one who breaks the iceberg, wins. In case of a tie, both sides win.
  • If all the cards in the sea run out: At that point, all players win. Congratulations!

Card Types

48 sea/ice cards, 3 colors: white, light blue, deep blue.

  • 1 Starting Card — Place 1 iceberg card on top. Then play one of your cards. You can choose any color you want.
  • 12 Iceberg Cards — Place 1 iceberg card at the top, then play one of your cards. Even if you can't play a card, still place an iceberg card at the top.
  • 12 Penguin Cards — Put a penguin on the 2nd row from the top and then play your card. Even if you can't play a card, still place a penguin.
  • 6 Ice Cards [1] and 6 Ice Cards [2] — Rock ice 1 and rock ice 2 are cards with different markings; you can't put 2 on top of 1. Place 1 or 2 designated numbers of ice rocks on the top tier with the least amount of ice rocks on it. Then play your card.

Aurora Cards (3-Color Cards)

You can put an Aurora card on any color card. The person who played the card can then designate the color of the card as white, light blue, or deep blue of their choice.

  • Draw 2 — The next player draws two cards from the sea and adds them to his or her hand. Then you play your cards.
  • Reverse — The order in which you play the cards is reversed.
  • Skip — Skip the next player, and then the next player takes their turn.
