Objective
Score the greatest number of points by forming combinations of dice. Players try to complete the dice combinations listed on their score sheet while accumulating as many points as possible. To do this, each player may roll the dice up to three times per turn. If a combination is not completed after the third roll, the player may score it in the way most advantageous to them.
Setup
Each player takes a score sheet and places it on the table in front of them. Randomly determine who will play first. The players take turns in clockwise order. The first player places the dice in the cup.
How to Play
The first player rolls the dice. Based on the numbers obtained on this first roll, they decide which combination they want to make. They leave on the table the dice they can use for the chosen combination, and roll the others. They may also choose to re-roll all five dice. A player may roll the dice a maximum of three times per turn.
If the chosen combination is completed on the second roll, the player may score their points and not make their third roll. The turn then passes to the next player.
If a player cannot complete a combination even after three rolls, they must score their points in the way most advantageous to them.
Example: While trying to complete a Full House (three of a kind and a pair), a player ends their turn with three 6s, a 2 and a 3. They may add the three 6s and enter a score of 18 in the sixth box of the "Dice 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6" section, or in the "3 of a Kind" box on the score sheet.
A player may make only one combination per turn. So if, for example, they obtain a Full House on their third roll but that Full House has already been entered on their score sheet, they must score their points in the way most advantageous to them.
Example: Three 6s and two 5s may be scored as a total of 28 in the "Rolling Surplus" box, OR the 6s may be scored as a total of 18 in the sixth box of the "Dice 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6" section, OR the 5s may be scored as a total of 10 in the fifth box in that same section.
If these alternatives have already been counted, the player must then enter zero in another box of their choice.
When all players have completed their thirteen combinations, the scores are tallied. The player with the highest score wins the game.
Combinations
The score sheet is divided into an upper section (Partie supérieure) and a lower section (Partie inférieure).
Upper Section
Dice 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (Jeu de dés 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
Count the total of the dice showing the same number, for each number from 1 to 6. Score the total in the box for that number. For example, three dice showing 3 (3 + 3 + 3) score 9 points in the box for the 3s.
Bonus
If a player scores 63 points or more in the "Dice 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6" section, they earn a bonus of 25 points.
Lower Section
3 of a Kind (3 pareils)
Three matching dice. The player counts the total of all dice (the three matching dice plus the two other dice). For example, (4 + 4 + 4 + 5 + 6) scores 23 points in the "3 of a Kind" box.
4 of a Kind (4 pareils)
Four matching dice. The player counts the total of all dice (the four matching dice plus the other die). For example, (2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 4) scores 12 points in the "4 of a Kind" box.
Short Straight of 4 (Courte séquence de 4)
Scores 15 points for any run of 4 consecutive numbers. The sheet illustrates this with dice showing a run of four consecutive numbers, which scores 15 points in the "Short Straight of 4" box.
Long Straight of 5 (Longue séquence de 5)
Scores 20 points for any run of 5 consecutive numbers. The sheet illustrates this with dice showing a run of five consecutive numbers, which scores 20 points in the "Long Straight of 5" box.
Rolling Surplus (Roulement de surplus)
Scores any combination of dice, at whatever moment the player judges most opportune. The player counts the total of all dice showing. For example, (1 + 2 + 4 + 4 + 6) scores 17 points in the "Rolling Surplus" box.
Full House (Main pleine)
Scores 25 points for three matching dice and another pair. For example, the dice shown score 25 points in the "Full House" box.
Yum
Scores 30 points for five matching dice. For example, the dice shown score 30 points in the "Yum" box.
