Components

Point cards (Punktekarten / Point cards): point cards numbered 1 to 10 (reverse side white).

Playing cards (Spielkarten / Playing cards), x 8: playing cards numbered 1 to 10 in eight colours.

How do I set up the game?

Each player is dealt 10 playing cards from 1 to 10 in a single colour (see reverse).

The 10 point cards (reverse side = white) are shuffled and placed in a pile face down in the middle of the table. The top point card is then turned over.

How is the game played?

The 10 point cards are played during 10 rounds. The player who plays the highest playing card, which has not been played two times or more, wins the round.

Example: 8 points (illustration of the playing cards in the printed example omitted).

Example: 12 points (illustration of the playing cards in the printed example omitted; see the "double" rule below).

If the winner receives the highest point card, the round is over.

All the playing cards that have been played in the round are discarded. (Each player collects the playing cards, which they have played, in a pile next to them.)

If there is no clear winner, the point card is not awarded but is carried forward to the next round. It should be "parked" next to the pile of point cards, and then awarded to the winner of the next round.

If a player manages to win the point card with a matching playing card, the point card counts as double.

Please note

Playing cards are always placed face down; only when every player has played a playing card can the cards be turned over, and the round awarded.

A new point card is then turned over to begin a new round.

What happens if there is not a winner in the last round?

If there is not a winner in the last round, then there is a "showdown".

Each player picks up their pile of playing cards, which they have played in previous rounds, chooses a card, and places it face down in front of themselves.

The playing cards are then turned over to see if there is a winner. If there is still no winner, the "showdown" is repeated.

How do you know who has won the game?

After the 10 point cards have been played, all the points are collected, added up, and noted. After any number of rounds, a winner is determined.

How can you play with two players?

The point cards are not "parked"; if there is a tie, the point cards are discarded. Double point cards and the "showdown" do not take place either.

Easier version of the game

The point cards are arranged from 1 to 10 in a pile face up on the table. The 1 is visible on the top.

Before the first round is played, each player comes up with a tactic for the game and arranges their 10 playing cards in an order of their choice, placing the cards face down in a pile in front of them. The order of the cards cannot be changed once they have been placed on the table.

10 rounds are played. For each round, the top playing card in each pile is played in order to try and win the point card.

2 - 'YOOLOO - 1 to 10'

The aim of the game is to successfully locate all ten of your playing cards in order from one to ten.

2.1 Setting up the game

Point cards (white on the back): Not required.

Playing cards (eight different colours on the back): Each player receives ten playing cards of a single colour, numbered one to ten.

2.2 Laying out the cards

Before starting the first round, each player shuffles their ten playing cards and randomly lays them face down in front of them. (The players must not know what order the playing cards are in.)

2.3 How to play

The game begins with the first player turning over any one of his/her cards in an attempt to locate the number one.

If the card that the player turns over is number one, the card is left face up. If the card is not number one, the card must be returned to the face down position. This is the end of the first player's turn.

Then it is the next player's turn to try to locate number one. The game moves clockwise.

Once each player has had a turn, the first round is over.

In the second round, the players who have successfully located their number one must now try to locate their number two. The players who failed to locate their number one must continue to search for it in the subsequent rounds.

The game continues this way until one player has successfully located each of his/her ten cards in order of one to ten.

Once this has happened, play continues until the round is over and then the scores are tallied up.

Players are awarded one point for every card that has been turned face up, which means that each player can earn a maximum of 10 points.

2.4 Other versions of the game

The basic principle of the game remains the same in this version, but players must now attempt to locate their cards in order from one to ten in one go.

Important: if a player successfully locates the right number, they can then try to locate the next number, and so on. If a player fails to locate the next number, all their cards must be turned face down again and it is the next player's turn.
