Instructions
2 to 4 Players
Contents
- Wrestling Ring Gameboard
- 6 Dice
- 4 Pawns
- 9 Wrestler Cards
- Deck of 24 Power Cards
- 12 Championship Belt Battle Chips
Object of the Game
Defeat all of your opponents to win the Championship.
Setup
- Carefully remove the Wrestler cards and battle chips from the cardboard sheets.
- Each player selects one color pawn, one die with matching color dots and 3 matching color battle chips. All players place their battle chips facedown (picture-side down) in front of them.
- One player shuffles the Wrestler cards and deals them facedown to each player as follows:
- In a 2-player game, each player gets 4 Wrestler cards. One card is left out of play.
- In a 3-player game, each player gets 3 Wrestler cards.
- In a 4-player game, each player gets 2 Wrestler cards. One card is left out of play.
- Shuffle the Power card deck and deal cards facedown with each player getting one Power card for each Wrestler card he or she has. Place the rest of the Power cards facedown in a draw pile near the gameboard. Players must place one Power card facedown under each of their Wrestler cards. Players may look at their own Power cards, but should keep them secret from the other players at this time.
- All players place their pawns on any gameboard space that matches one of their Wrestler cards.
- Each player rolls one die. The player with the highest roll goes first. Play continues to the left.
On Your Turn
Roll your die and move your pawn the number of spaces shown on the die. You may move in either direction on the gameboard. You may move over other players' pawns or land on spaces occupied by other players' pawns. You cannot move onto the same space twice in one turn.
Then do one of the following:
- If you land on a Wrestler space that matches one of your Wrestler cards, or on a space picturing a wrestler who is out of the game, your turn is over.
- If you land on a Draw A Card space, take one Power card from the top of the draw pile, look at it (keep it secret) and place it facedown under any one of your Wrestler cards. Your turn is then over. Note: Power cards give wrestlers extra strength in battle.
- If you land on a Challenge space, you become the Challenger. Choose any one of your wrestlers and any one of your opponents' wrestlers to battle.
- If you land on an opponent's Wrestler space, you become the Challenger. Choose your wrestlers to battle with the wrestler pictured on the space you landed on.
Gameboard spaces, as labeled on the board diagram: Draw A Card space, Wrestler spaces, Challenge space.
How to Battle
In a battle, one wrestler fights another wrestler in a series of rounds until one wrestler is eliminated from the game. A battle is fought with the same 2 players rolling their color die once per round. The highest die roll wins the round. Power cards are used to help wrestlers increase their die roll total.
POWER CARDS: A wrestler may use only one Power card per round (per die roll). Once a Power card has been placed under a wrestler, it cannot be switched to another wrestler. Often you will have only one Power card per wrestler, so use it wisely. The 2 types of Power cards are listed below.
Numbered cards (1-5) - When playing a numbered card, add the number shown on the card to your die roll.
For Example: If you play a number 3 PILE DRIVER card and you roll a 5, the total score for your wrestler is 8.
Special Wrestling Hold card - This card allows you to roll 2 dice in one round. (Use your own color die and one of the extra black-dotted dice.)
Setting Up the Battle
As the Challenger, you do the following:
- Place your battling Wrestler card faceup in the center ring on the gameboard. Your opponent does the same.
- Leave your wrestler's Power card(s) facedown in front of you. You may look at them, but don't let your opponent see them at this time. Your opponent does the same.
Important: Once a challenge has been made, a player has the right to know how many Power cards the opposing wrestler has. The strength of a wrestler's Power cards remains a secret until each is used in battle.
The battle continues on page 4.
The Battle Rounds
- As the Challenger, you must first announce whether or not you are going to play a Power card in that round. Once you announce your decision, you cannot change your mind in that round. If you decide to play a Power card, place it faceup on top of your Wrestler card (in the center of the ring). No card can be changed once you place it in the ring.
- Then, your opponent announces if he or she will use a Power card. If so, your opponent places a Power card faceup on top of his or her Wrestler card.
- Both players then roll their dice at the same time. The player with the higher die roll (or combination die roll and Power card) wins the round.
- The winner of the round turns one of his or her battle chips faceup.
In the event of a tie: Place all Power cards used during that round in a discard pile next to the draw pile. Then play the round over as described above.
- The same 2 wrestlers continue to battle round by round - rolling dice and playing Power cards if they have them. Remember, only one Power card per round per wrestler. After each round, all played Power cards are placed in the discard pile.
The battle continues until one player has all 3 battle chips turned faceup. That player wins the battle.
Winning the Battle
If you win the battle, remove your winning Wrestler card from the gameboard and place it back in front of you. Congratulations! Your wrestler survives and also wins a free Power card. Take the Power card from the draw pile and place it (along with any of the wrestler's unused Power cards) facedown under that winning Wrestler card.
Note: If the draw pile is used up, shuffle the discard pile and use it as the new draw pile.
Losing the Battle
If you lose the battle, remove your Wrestler card from play for the rest of the game. Place the wrestler's played and unplayed (if any) Power cards in the discard pile.
Note: After a battle, both winner and loser turn their battle chips facedown in preparation for future battles.
Winning the Game
Players continue moving around the gameboard and battling each other as described above until only one player has a surviving wrestler(s). This player wins the game and is named WWF Champion!
