Game board Spinner 300 cards 259 question cards 35 Ancient wonders cards 6 Boarding Pass cards 6 playing pieces 6 puzzles (6 pieces in each) Die
Before the Game Begins
Assemble the game board on the table and attach the arrow to the spinner. Place the puzzle pieces on the game board on the squares marked for them. Take all the cards from the game box. Separate the Ancient wonders cards into their own piles (7 piles) and place the piles face up next to the game board. Place all the other question cards in 2 or 3 piles face up next to the game board. Deal one Boarding Pass to each player and return the rest back to the game box. Each player chooses one playing piece and places it on a question space on one of the six continents (6 large ivory-coloured spaces).
How to Play
The player who has last been travelling begins the game. The play progresses in a clockwise order.
The game begins from the question spaces on the continents, more than one player may begin from the same space.
Special Spaces
Question Spaces on the Continents
When you land on a question space on one of the continents, the player sitting to your left takes the top card from a pile of question cards. He/she asks you the first question and shows you the picture on the card. (Once you have answered all the questions you have chosen to answer, he/she returns the card face up under the pile.)
- If you answer correctly to the first question, take a puzzle piece representing that same continent where you answered correctly. Please note that you are collecting only puzzle pieces that have the same colour with your playing piece. You can now choose whether you want to answer an extra question (the second and the third questions) from the same card or not.
- If you choose not to answer any extra questions, wait for your next turn, then roll the die and continue your way towards the next continent.
- If you choose to answer question nr 2 and you answer correctly, move your playing piece two steps forward. If you choose to answer also question nr 3 and you answer correctly, move one more step forward.
- If you choose to answer an extra question but you answer incorrectly, wait for your next turn, then roll the die and continue your way towards the next continent.
- If you answer incorrectly to the first question, on your next turn answer the first question from another card. If you now answer correctly, take a puzzle piece representing that same continent where you answered correctly. (You can also choose if you want to answer extra questions from that same card, see above). If you answer incorrectly, wait for your next turn, then roll the die and leave the question space.
NOTE! You need one puzzle piece from each of the 6 continents. You can only take a puzzle piece representing the same continent where you answered correctly. If you land on the question space of a continent you already have a puzzle piece from, you can immediately roll the die and continue your way towards the next continent.
Spinner Spaces (Ancient Wonders Spaces)
Between the continents there are spinner spaces. When you land on one of these spaces, roll the spinner on the game board. The player to your left notes which one of the Ancient wonders and which number (1-3) the spinner stops at. He/she picks up the top card from the corresponding pile of the Ancient wonders cards and asks the question beside the correct number (1, 2 or 3). (Once you have answered he/she returns the card face up under the pile.)
- If you answer correctly, move your playing piece straight to the question space on the next continent and on your next turn answer a question.
- If you answer incorrectly, on your next turn roll the die and continue your way towards the next continent.
Joker Spaces
There are Joker spaces on the game board (J) and on each card there is a joker question. If you land on a Joker space, the player sitting to your left picks up the top card from a pile of question cards and asks you the joker question. (Once you have answered he/she returns the card face up under the pile.)
- If you answer correctly, move your playing piece straight to the question space on the next continent and on your next turn answer a question.
- If you answer incorrectly, on your next turn roll the die and continue your way towards the next continent.
Other Spaces
Note! If you land on any other space than a special space, you do not answer any questions; wait for your next turn, then roll the die and continue your way towards the next continent. You do not need an exact number to land on the question spaces on the continents, but on the other special spaces you land only with an exact number. You can move in which ever direction on the game board and visit the question spaces in which ever order you want. More than one playing piece is allowed to be in the same space simultaneously.
Flying Routes
From some of the question spaces there are flying routes. They act as shortcuts to question spaces on other continents. With your Boarding Pass you can use a shortcut to another continent, but you can only do this once during each game. After you have used your Boarding Pass, return it to the game box.
Cards
Each question card has three questions and a joker question. In the first question the answer may name more than one country, in which case any one of the mentioned countries counts as a correct answer. However, after the player in turn has answered, the player asking the question should read aloud all the correct answers and the additional information of the Wonder and its location below.
The second and the third question are multiple choice questions and the correct choice has been bolded. If the question is "Which one of these is NOT true?", the correct i.e. the bolded answer is in fact wrong information. In this kind of cases there is usually an asterisk (*) at the end of the bolded answer and the correct information can be found at the bottom of the card below the dotted line.
The Winner
The player who is the first one to complete his/her 6-piece puzzle wins the game.
Tips for Playing the Game
Before the game begins the players should agree on how precise the answers should be. The game can be eased, for example, by accepting the correct continent as a correct answer to the first question, instead of the players having to know the correct country. You can also agree that there can be more than two attempts in the question spaces on the continents, for instance younger players could have more attempts than older players. Since the joker questions do not have multiple choices, the precision of the answers can be agreed separately for each joker question. If necessary, the player asking the joker question can also ease the question, for example, by giving clues or allowing three attempts.
Good luck!
