Overview
- Play tiles to create flowers.
- Place a bee to claim a flower.
- Complete cards for points.
- Refill tiles and cards.
Game Setup
- Assemble the board in the center of the play area.
- Garden cards that have a sun icon in the bottom right are advanced cards. If it's your first game, put all 12 advanced cards back in the box. Shuffle the remaining cards.
- Tiles that have white petals are Wild. Set aside 1 Wild tile for each player, then place ALL remaining tiles in the bag.
- Each player receives the following:
- 1 stand (to hold and hide your tiles and cards)
- 1 Wild tile (that was set aside in step 3)
- 5 tiles drawn from the bag
- 3 cards drawn from the deck
- 5 bumblebees in the color of their choosing
- Draw a tile from the bag and place in the center of the board.
- The youngest player goes first. Turns proceed clockwise.
On Your Turn
Play tiles to the board, claim flowers with bumblebees, and complete Garden cards. Then, refill your tiles and cards.
Playing Tiles
Play 1, 2 or 3 tiles from your hand to the board:
- Each tile must touch at least 1 other tile.
- Each petal must match all petals it touches.
Tiles may be played to different flowers in the same turn. A flower is one or more petals of the same color that all touch each other.
Example, playing to an unfinished yellow flower: the yellow-blue tile may be played to any of the 5 spaces.
Example, finishing a pink flower.
If you are unable to play any tiles on your turn: Set aside all your tiles face up. Draw 6 tiles from the bag, put the set-aside tiles back into the bag, and take your whole turn.
Claiming Flowers
Bumblebees claim flowers and score points. Claiming flowers prevents other players from scoring a flower you're growing. They may still play tiles to a flower you claimed, but YOU get the points from it being finished.
At any time on your turn, you may place ONE bumblebee from your supply onto the center of any flower, whether or not the flower is finished.
Each flower may only have one bumblebee. Bumblebees may not be moved.
Completing Garden Cards
Garden cards are secret objectives completed by placing a bee or finishing a flower. A finished flower is 6 petals of the same color that all touch each other.
Any time you place a bee or finish a flower, check to see if your completed any of your Garden cards. When you complete a Garden card, reveal it from your stand and place it faceup for the rest of the game. You may complete multiple Garden cards at the same time, even if they're the same objective. If you finish two flowers at the same time, you decide which flower is finished first (the order may matter to your cards).
FINISHING OPPONENTS' FLOWERS: If you finish a flower that an opponent claimed with their bumblebee, it's as if they finished the flower, not you. That player may complete Garden cards on your turn when this occurs.
Refilling Tiles and Cards
TILES: Draw from the bag until you have 6 in your stand.
CARDS: If you completed any Garden cards this turn:
- Draw 3 cards from the deck.
- From those, keep 1 for each empty card slot in your stand.
- Discard the rest faceup to a shared discard pile.
If you draw a Garden card whose conditions are already met, it is not automatically completed. The conditions must be met again. If you have a Garden card whose conditions can never be met, reveal the card and remove it from the game.
If the Garden deck runs out, shuffle the discard pile to become the new deck. If there are still none left, no more cards are drawn.
Going clockwise, the next player takes their turn.
Wild Tiles
White petals are Wild! These tiles are played as normal, but they ignore color-matching rules. A flower made of 6 Wilds counts as all colors.
Repotting Wilds
Wild tiles on the board (in ANY flower, unfinished or finished) may be repotted!
To repot a wild, replace it with a non-Wild tile that could normally go in that position. Then, immediately place the wild tile in a new position on the board.
Repotting counts as playing 1 tile, even though you are both playing a tile and moving a tile.
Garden Cards Reference
Anywhere Cards
Flowers for these cards may be anywhere on the board.
Note: White flowers on cards means the flower can be any color!
2-Away Cards
Flowers for these cards must be 2 flowers away, but this does not have to be in a straight line.
Next-To Cards
Flowers for these cards must neighbor another flower, i.e. they share a tile.
Finishing the blue flower in any of the example layouts will complete the example "next to" card.
Edge Cards
Flowers for these cards must have some tiles that touch the edge of the board.
Center Cards
Flowers for these cards must have no tiles that touch the edge of the board.
Game End
When any player has their 5 bumblebees on finished flowers, the game will end. The current player finishes the rest of their turn, and all remaining players take one more turn.
Add up each player's score:
- 1 point for each of your bumblebees on a finished flower.
- Points for your completed Garden cards (shown on the upper left of each card).
The player with the most points wins! If there's a tie, the player who completed the least number of Garden cards wins. If there's still a tie, players share the victory.

Play without Garden Cards. The first player to have bumblebees on 5 finished flowers is the winner!
Solo Rules
Setup
- Put away all bumblebees, stands, and the 8 cards that contain "bee" or "this turn".
- Set up the board with a Wild tile in the center space.
- Shuffle the Garden cards.
- Draw 3 cards and place them face up in a row.
- Take 42 tiles out of the bag and mix them up face down on the table.
- Form 3 stacks of face down tiles with 6 tiles in each. Align each stack with 1 of the 3 Garden cards.
- Draw a tile off each stack to form a face up 3-tile hand.
Gameplay
When playing Solo, it's always your turn! Play 1 tile at a time from your faceup hand to the board. To refill that slot in your hand, draw 1 tile from that tile's stack. If there are no tiles left in the stack, the slot and the stack are not refilled for now (see below for refilling).
Any of your faceup tiles may be used to progress any of your Garden cards. When you complete a card, set it aside as scored and draw a new card from the deck from that position. Then, refill that tile stack to 6 (even if that stack was empty). If there is already a tile in your hand below the stack, include that tile when counting to 6.
There are no bumblebees when playing Solo, so ignore any instance of "claimed" on Garden cards.
Game End
The game ends when you can't place anymore tiles, or you have no tiles left to place. Your score is the total of all your completed Garden cards. Try for a higher score each time!
