Overview

  • Players: 2-4
  • Playing time: 30 minutes

Components

  1. Menu cards: March Hare, White Rabbit, Hatter, Alice.
  2. Tea sets: 4 colors (red, blue, yellow, green), 16 sets in total. Each piece is 2 sheets plus a base. The four shapes are: vase, pot, cup, lamp.
  3. Table: 1 set (2 legs, 1 top).
  4. Instructions: 1 sheet (this one).

Preparing the Tea Party

  1. Draw a menu card to decide your own menu.
  2. Starting from the player who likes tea parties most, play proceeds clockwise.
  3. Hand any tea set you like to the opponent so that they place it.
  4. The player who receives a tea set places it on the table, then hands any tea set they like to the next player.
  5. If, when a tea set is placed, a tea party setup is ready, be sure to tell everyone "Let's start the tea party!" Then the tea party begins! (Complete any one line, in any direction, and make the declaration, and you win. A diagonal line is also fine! You cannot win if you forget to declare.)

What Makes a Line

The four tea sets in the line must be either all the same or all different in "color" and in "shape".

Menu Card Win

In addition, if tea sets are placed exactly as your own menu card shows, the tea party begins on anyone's turn! Be sure to tell everyone "Let's start the tea party!" (On anyone's turn, you win if the tea sets are arranged as your menu card shows. You cannot win if you forget to declare.)

Example, for Alice:

  • A teacup and a teapot, two of each, is OK.
  • The order may be mixed up; two of each is still OK.
  • Color does not matter; two of each is OK.
