How to Play
Randomly select a first player that will start the game as the dealer.
The dealer flips 5 cards from the deck and places them in a row in the middle of the table.
1. Ranking the Cards
The dealer observes the row of 5 cards they just made and places their tokens, face down, one per card, on the upper half of the cards. Thus the dealer places the token #1 on the most important card to them, the token #2 on the second most important card, while the token #5 is placed on what is for them the least important card.
The other players try to guess which card is the most important for the dealer and, using the same method as the dealer, rank the cards by placing their tokens, face down, one per card, on the bottom half of the cards.
Note: You might unconsciously place the token #1 on a card first, which would help the other players. Rather than placing the tokens one by one, pick one at random and place it on a card. Than continue with the next token, moving tokens around if you want to modify your ranking.
2. Check the Answers
When all the players have placed their tokens on the cards, the dealer reveals all the tokens placed on the first card. Compare the number on the player's tokens with the number on the dealer's. Return to their owner the tokens that do not match the dealer's token.
Using the same method, reveal the tokens on each of the remaining cards. Then, check which player has scored the most points. You can check the score by counting the number of correct answers based on the number of tokens remaining on the bottom half of the cards.
3. Calculate Points
The players get points by achieving the highest number of correct answers.
The player with the most correct answers takes all 5 cards.
If two or more players are tied for the most correct answers, divide evenly the 5 cards among the tied players and discard the remaining ones. Place the cards you gained in front of you. This is your score.
How to Split Cards
| Number of tied players | Number of cards awarded to each tied player | Number of discarded cards |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 5 | 0 |
| 2 | 2 | 1 |
| 3 | 1 | 2 |
| 4 | 1 | 1 |
| 5 | 1 | 0 |
Note: If no player managed to get at least one correct answer, the dealer discards one of their own cards if possible.
4. Next Round
After calculating points for each player, everyone takes back their own tokens.
The next player will now start first. Choose and show five new cards, and follow the steps to continue the game.
Game End and Winning
The game ends when each player has played the role of the dealer twice. The player with the most word cards in front of them wins the game. In case of a tie, the victory is shared.
Note: For a longer game, you may pursue until each player has been the dealer thrice rather than twice.
