Components
- 1 game board
- 6 travelers (with plastic stands)
- 54 playing cards (6 sets of 9 cards)
- 50 square winning tiles (5 per type)
- 60 round souvenir tiles (6 per type)
- 58 coins (38 of value 1, 10 of value 2, 10 of value 5)
Setup
Before the first game, carefully push all cardboard parts out of the punch sheets. Place the needed travelers in the plastic stands so that they stand upright.
- Place the game board in the middle of the table.
- Sort the winning tiles into two stacks, one with the yellow reverse and one with the purple reverse. Shuffle each stack with the picture side facing down.
- On each yellow square on the board (at Helsinki, Tokyo and Wellington), place one yellow winning tile face up. Do the same with the purple winning tiles (at Helsinki, Vancouver and Buenos Aires). Note: No two identical tiles may lie next to each other.
- Place all souvenir tiles on the spaces with the corresponding pictures on the game board.
- Give each player three coins of value 1. Place the remaining coins as a general supply next to the game board. Coins may be exchanged at any time.
- Each player chooses a traveler and places it at the start of their first turn in Amsterdam (the large orange dot on the game board). Give each player a set of 9 cards that carries, on its back, the character matching the chosen traveler.
Turn Sequence
The player who was most recently on vacation begins. The game then proceeds clockwise. On your turn, choose one of the following two options:
- Travel
- Stay overnight
1) Travel
You play as many cards as you wish (but not the card "Stay overnight"), and your traveler always moves as many cities (dots) along the colored line(s) shown on the card(s) as the card indicates (moving fewer is also allowed). Each player places played cards on their own discard pile. If you do not wish to or cannot play any more cards, you may perform an action in the city where you ended your movement (if an action is possible in that city). After performing an action (if any), your turn is over.
During your flight you may not visit cities with a traveler belonging to another player. Overtaking (inhalen) is only allowed with the card "Helicopter Flight" (see "Overview of the Playing Cards"), and even then you may not end your turn in a city with a traveler of another player.
2) Stay overnight
You play the card "Stay overnight". Your traveler does not move. Instead, you take all cards from your discard pile back into your hand. Your turn ends immediately.
Overview of Actions in Cities
The game board shows many cities, each represented by a colored dot. If you perform the corresponding action in a city, your turn ends immediately afterwards. There are four different dots:
-
Buy a souvenir (red dot, black edge) This can be done in: Brasilia, Mexico City, Reykjavik, Barcelona, Istanbul, Cape Town, Perth, New Delhi, Moscow and Hong Kong.
-
Sell a souvenir (green dot, black edge) This can be done in: Buenos Aires, Vancouver, Helsinki, Tokyo and Wellington.
-
Extra flight (black dot) This can be done between San Francisco and Vladivostok, but also between Santiago and Darwin.
-
Special locations (black dot, pink edge) There are three different special locations: New York, Dakar and Astana. Each of these cities has a unique special action, which is described further in the rules.
1) Buy a souvenir (red dot, black edge) Pay the amount shown next to the round souvenir to the general supply, and take a souvenir tile from the city where your traveler stands.
2) Sell a souvenir (green dot, black edge) If you own a souvenir tile that matches the picture on a winning tile located in this city, you may sell it. Return the souvenir tile(s) to the corresponding city or cities on the game board, and take the amount shown under the winning tile from the general supply. Then place the winning tile face down in front of you. If you have collected six different winning tiles, you win the game.
Then place a new winning tile of the corresponding color on each empty space. If two identical winning tiles lie next to each other, place the tile that was placed last back beside the game board and replace it with a new one.
Note: You may sell two souvenirs at the same time, but you may not sell a souvenir that was only placed at the end of your turn.
3) Extra flight (black dot) Pay 4 coins to the general supply and move your traveler across the corresponding horizontal line next to your current city to the other side of the game board. With this action your turn does NOT end. If you wish, you may simply continue traveling.
4) Special locations (black dot, pink edge)
A) New York: Take back a card Choose another player, draw one card from their face-down hand and place it on their discard pile. If you draw the card "Stay overnight", the chosen player takes all cards from their discard pile back into their hand.
B) Dakar: Take two cards back into hand Choose two cards from your own discard pile and take them back into your hand.
C) Astana: Exchange two winning tiles of the requested souvenirs Exchange two different winning tiles of the same color (yellow or purple) on the game board with each other.
Additional Rules
It is not allowed to end a turn in the same city where you began, unless you have chosen the card "Stay overnight".
End of the Game
A player who has six different winning tiles wins the game immediately.
Variant: You may travel around the world for longer and keep playing until one player has 8 different winning tiles.
Example of a Turn
The good-natured American wants to fly from Amsterdam to Istanbul. Because he travels via Pisa, where the photographing Japanese man is standing, he first plays the card "Helicopter Flight" and moves his traveler to Pisa. Then he plays the card "1x fly over a red line" and places his traveler on Istanbul. Because he stops here, he may perform the Istanbul action: buying a souvenir. He places two coins of value 1 in the general supply and takes a souvenir of Istanbul (kleed) and places it in front of him.
Overview of the Playing Cards
Each player receives a set of the playing cards below:
- 1x Fly over a red line. With this card you may, during the action "Travel", fly once over a red line.
- 2x Fly over a red line. With this card you may, during the action "Travel", fly twice over a red line.
- 1x Fly over a green line. With this card you may, during the action "Travel", fly once over a green line.

- 2x Fly over a blue line. With this card you may, during the action "Travel", fly twice over a blue line.
- Helicopter Flight (Helikoptervlucht). 1x fly over any line. After playing this card, you may overtake (inhalen) other players' travelers for the rest of your turn. This card must be played before you move your traveler to a city where a traveler of another player stands. In the turn in which you use the helicopter flight, you may pass several players' travelers, also when they are in different cities. You may not end your turn in a city with a traveler of another player.
- Charter Flight (Chartervlucht). Move your traveler to any city on the game board. You may play this card only once during the game. This card does not go on your discard pile, but after use it is removed from the game. Place it in the box.
- Stay overnight (Overnachten). Take all cards from your discard pile into your hand. You only use this card if, in your turn, you choose "Stay overnight" instead of "Travel". Taking back the cards from your discard pile ends your turn immediately.
