Before the First Game

Idea of the Game
The players choose "Team Elton" or "Team Bernhard" and the game begins. Each team takes turns choosing a category, while the other team reads out a quiz question. If the team answers correctly, it receives 500 euros. Each team may also consult the audience once with the Audience Tokens if it doesn't know the answer. After a total of 12 questions comes the final Master Question, in which the money won so far can be wagered and, with some luck, doubled. The team that has won the most money at the end of the game wins the game.
Setup
The players divide evenly between "Team Elton" and "Team Bernhard". Each team receives the matching 3 ABC Cards, showing a picture of Elton or Bernhard, and 6 Team Tokens each.
The 4 Audience Tokens are shuffled and laid out side by side, face up with the "Audience" side showing.
The Money Tokens are placed where everyone can reach them. The Answer Wall Card is placed in the middle of the table.
The 102 Quiz Cards are shuffled and 12 cards are drawn. The remaining Quiz Cards go back into the box.
The 12 cards are laid on top of one another in a staggered fashion, so that only the category of each card is visible. The questions and answer options must not be visible. The Stack Card is placed on the bottom Quiz Card, so that its question is not readable either.
Note: It can happen that a category appears more than once in the game and in the final round. This is allowed in this version of "Wer weiss denn sowas?".
Note: If the number of players is odd, one team has one player more than the other team. If the teams cannot agree on the assignment, a coin toss decides, made with the round Bernhard/Elton toss token.
Gameplay
The team with the youngest player begins the game and chooses one of the twelve categories currently on display. A player from the other team carefully draws the corresponding card, without looking at the other cards. If there are several cards of this category, this player may decide which card to draw.
The player makes sure that no one can see the back of the card with the correct answer. The player reads the question and the three answer options aloud and then places the card in the middle of the table, so that the guessing team can also read it.
And the wild speculation and guessing can begin! The team that is not currently taking its turn may also join in and offer "helpful" advice. However, only the team whose turn it is must finally decide on one of the three answers.
Note: If the team cannot agree on an answer or cannot reach a decision, after no more than 5 minutes of discussion the decision must be made by a coin toss (with the round Bernhard/Elton marker).
As soon as the guessing team has settled on an answer, it announces the chosen answer, A, B or C, aloud and places the matching ABC Card in the middle. The player who read out the card turns it over and announces the correct answer. There are two possibilities:
The team gave the correct answer: Congratulations! The guessing team places one of its Team Tokens on a free space on the Answer Wall Card, takes Money Tokens worth 500 euros and lays them face up in front of itself. The Quiz Card used is placed in front of the team.
The team gave the wrong answer: Too bad, bad luck! The guessing team returns one of its Team Tokens to the box and receives no money. The Quiz Card used is placed in front of the team.
In both cases the other team is then next. It chooses one of the remaining categories, and a player from the opposing team reads out the question. Play continues in this way until each team has been able to guess 6 times.
Asking the Audience
If the players are ever stuck, each team may ask the audience for help once per game, but not in the final round. To do so, one of the Audience Tokens is drawn at random, turned face up, and read out. There are three possibilities:
Correct answer (2x): If this token is drawn, the Quiz Card lying on the table is turned over and the correct answer is read aloud. After that, the rules described under "The team gave the correct answer" apply.
Wrong answer (1x): If this token is drawn, the Quiz Card lying on the table is also turned over and the correct answer is still read aloud. However, after that the rules described under "The team gave the wrong answer" apply.
Toss a coin (1x): If this token is drawn, the decision is made by a coin toss. A player of the guessing team throws the round Bernhard/Elton marker. If the face of the guessing team comes up, the rules described under "Correct answer" apply. If the face of the opposing team comes up, the rules described under "Wrong answer" apply.
After that, the Audience Token is turned over so that the side with "Audience" is facing up, and all 4 tokens are shuffled again.
Final Round
After 12 questions, with each team having taken its turn 6 times, comes the Master Question. A card is drawn at random from the Quiz Cards that were not used and placed in the middle of the table. The drawn card is immediately covered with the Stack Card, so that only the category is visible. This establishes the category of the Master Question.
Now both teams decide how much of the money they have won so far they want to wager, and then lay the corresponding Money Tokens under one of their six Quiz Cards. The remaining Money Tokens are taken into the hand of one of the players, so that no conclusions can be drawn about how much the team has wagered.
Note: The Money Tokens come in different amounts, including one with the value "0 euros", so that the teams can also bluff. The teams should therefore exchange their Money Tokens before the final round.
Once both teams have placed their money, a player of one team prepares a stopwatch set to 20 seconds. It is best to use the stopwatch function of a mobile phone or a wristwatch.
A player of the other team uncovers the Quiz Card and reads the question and the three answer options aloud. Afterwards, the player places the card in the middle of the table where everyone can see it.
The other player then starts their stopwatch and says "Go!" Now it must be quick, because only 20 seconds remain! The teams confer and decide which answer could be the correct one.
Note: The decision must be made before the stopwatch runs out (20 seconds)! The answer is given with one of the 3 ABC Cards. For this, the card is placed face down in the middle of the table.
After the stopwatch runs out, the Quiz Card is turned over and the correct answer is read aloud. The players reveal their ABC Card as well as the Quiz Card with the wagered money. Now everyone can see how much of their won money they wagered and whether they guessed the correct answer.
If a team knew the correct answer, the value of its wagered Money Tokens is doubled.
If a team guessed the wrong answer, it loses the wagered Money Tokens, which are then returned to the box.
End of the Game
Now the scores are tallied. The team with the most money wins the game. If there is a tie, both teams have won.
Extension for the Base Game
The 102 Quiz Cards can also be used as an extension for the large quiz game. The 102 Quiz Cards are smaller than the Quiz Cards from the large game, so that they can also be more easily told apart from the other cards and sorted out.
