Undead Samurai Rider Card

The Undead Samurai Rider is a Warden monster of the Undead Samurai Monster Area. It belongs to the Undead Samurai expansion pack.

  • Top right, Monster Area icon: the Undead Samurai area symbol (a samurai helmet silhouette).
  • Top right, Monster Type icon: the Warden symbol (a hooded figure). See the Wardens sheet below.
  • Stats, left to right: a blue pouch icon with 3, a red shield icon with 3, and a purple shield icon with 3.
  • Name: Undead Samurai Rider.
  • Reward or power, printed as icons: Flip a [Citizen icon] from [player icon].

Icon reading: the card has no printed words for its three stat icons or for the Citizen and player icons. The blue pouch, red shield and purple shield are matched to the Gold, Strength and Magic Resources of the base game's icon key. The sourcer's note read the purple shield as Victory Points, and the base icon key lists Victory Points as a separate icon, so the purple icon's meaning is not confirmed by any printed text. The blue C icon is read as the Citizen icon and the figure icon as a player.

Gap: no printed rule states what "flip" means here, whether the flipped Citizen stays face-down, or how the other player is chosen. The base rulebook has no flip mechanic, and no sheet found for this promo defines it. This transcription does not add a rule for it.

Wardens (New Icons sheet)

This sheet is the "New Icons" rule card from the Undead Samurai expansion pack. The Rider's Warden type is defined here.

New Icons

  • Warden: A new Monster Type added to the game. Wardens belong to the Monster Area shown on their respective card.
  • Wild: Represents all of the three different Resources in the game (Strength, Gold, and Magic). This icon is present across all card types. When there is a number on top of the icon, it means that it represents that many of one Resource of your choice. If the icon is by itself as a reward or power, it means you take that many tokens of one Resource of your choice (do not mix and match) from the bank.

Warden Cards Setup

During Monster Cards setup, place the Warden Monster above the Boss Monster of each respective Monster Area.

Undead Samurai Rules

This sheet is the "Undead Samurai Rules" rule card. The Undead Samurai cards can be used as an Event or as a Monster stack. The Rider is one of these cards.

The Undead Samurai cards can be used as an Event during the game or as a Monster stack you can add to the Monster row. The instructions below describe the rules changes for both. All other standard rules apply.

Playing As Event

Following the Event Card Rules, shuffle the Undead Samurai Lord card with the Exhausted back into the Exhausted card stack. Place the Undead Samurai Monster cards face down next to the Exhausted card stack. During the game, when the Undead Samurai Lord is revealed, place it in the empty slot as usual, then starting with the Active player, and in turn order, each player places 1 Undead Samurai on a non-Exhausted stack of their choice. When the Undead Samurai Lord is slain, return any Undead Samurai still in the center stacks to the box.

Playing As Monster Stack

Take the Undead Samurai Lord card with the Monster card back and the Undead Samurai Monster cards and set them up as described in the standard rules.
