1 game board (7 columns by 6 rows, lettered A–F and numbered 1–7)
Setup
Each player takes six stones of one colour and places them as shown in the starting-position diagram ("Grundstellung"), with the blank side facing up.
The colours are determined by lot. Light begins.
Goal
The first player to turn all six of their own stones crown-side up wins.
Turns
Players alternate turns. On a turn, a player makes one move: either a jump or a slide, as described below.
Jumping
A stone may jump over an adjacent stone in a horizontal or vertical direction. The stone jumped over may be the player's own stone or an opponent's stone.
The landing square must be empty.
After jumping, the jumping stone is turned over. A blank stone becomes a crown stone, and a crown stone becomes a blank stone.
Sliding (crown stones only)
Blank stones may not slide; they can only jump.
Crown stones may also slide, moving exactly one square in any direction: horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, onto an empty adjacent square.
A crown stone is not turned over when it slides.
Connectivity Rule
Every jump or slide is allowed only if, afterwards, all twelve stones are still connected to one another in a horizontal or vertical direction.
Any move that would break the connection of the twelve stones is not allowed.
Example
The diagram shows that the stone on B6 may slide to C5, but may not jump to D6.
