- Twilight Imperium: Third Edition rulebook · Rulebook · Before Combat
Before Invasion Combat, each Dreadnought rolls one die and each War Sun three, removing a defending Ground Force per hit. A Dreadnought cannot bombard a planet with an enemy PDS (planetary shield) and only when you are invading; a War Sun ignores the shield and may bombard with no invasion. Each ship bombards one planet per activation, declared up front, and bombardment happens once, not each combat round. Neither unit destroys a PDS or Space Dock.
