How does the Possession event work, and is the influence option optional?
In the round it is revealed, each player must put one citizen on it, either one already in play or one hired for 2 influence; you can't skip it. When a player later places a cube on the event, he frees a citizen of his choice back to its owner's supply. The French rules add that a gray cube placed by Support frees a randomly chosen citizen.
