How does Diplomat work, and can influence gained from the cubes pay for more cubes?
The card says all influence must be spent before placing cubes.

Spend 1 influence per cube before placing any cubes; you then gain 1 influence back for each cube placed. Influence earned during the action can't be used to fund further cubes in that same action, because you must pay in advance. The card is a wash on influence and is for gaining cube majorities.
