Déroulement de la partie
Place as many pawns as there are players or teams on the space "la lumière à tous les étages" (light on every floor), at the top of the board.
Take one of the 5 card decks, shuffle it and place it in the centre of the table to form the draw pile.
You are now ready to begin! The player who thinks they are the most cultured starts, draws a card and asks the question on it to the player seated to their left:
- If that player answers correctly, they do not lose any points and stay on the same space of the board.
- If they answer incorrectly, they move back the number of spaces corresponding to the penalty indicated on the question card.
Then, the player who has just answered the question card draws a card and asks the question to the player seated to their left, and so on.
The game ends as soon as one of the players reaches space 0 of QI - Trou Noir (sorry bye-bye). The player with the highest QI is declared the winner!
6 Types of Question Cards
Questions doubles (Double questions)
Choose to answer only one of the 2 questions on the card, depending on the theme that inspires you most. Double questions are asked as in the following example: "Julien, tu préfères une question sur le thème 'Rugby' pour -20 points de QI ou sur le thème 'Pesto' pour -50 points de QI ?" (Julien, would you prefer a question on the theme "Rugby" for -20 QI points or on the theme "Pesto" for -50 QI points?). Be strategic: the simpler the question, the bigger the penalty, and vice versa.
Give me 5
You must name 5 elements on a given theme in under 15 seconds. Be quick, because you lose 10 points of QI for each missing element!
La Roulette Russe (Russian Roulette)
You must find the correct answer among 4 proposals. If you fail, you lose 40 points of QI.
C'est + ou - (It's more or less)
You must answer 2 questions by finding, each time, the element that is higher than the other. A wrong answer costs -20; two wrong answers cost -50!
Info/Intox (Info/Fake)
You must guess whether the 2 stated facts are real information or not. You lose 20 points of QI if you get one wrong; you lose 50 if you get both wrong.
Cauchemar (Nightmare)
You must answer 5 true/false questions on each of the themes of the game. As soon as you answer one of the 5 questions incorrectly, your turn stops and you lose 30 points of QI.
Les armes stratégiques (Strategic weapons)
We are well aware that you are in a critical situation, but the positive side is that you can use the various weapons that were present in the station and that are now scattered across the board. They can grant you powerful advantages, but if misused they could turn against you and bring you down.
The effect of these weapons applies at the start of your turn only when it is your turn to answer a question, and not when you have landed on them after answering a question.
Le Sniper
Choose a victim among the players. If you answer correctly, you gain +10 QI while your victim loses -30 QI. If you answer incorrectly, you alone lose the number of QI points indicated on the question card.
Le Grappin (The Grappling hook)
Choose a player you want to help. If you answer correctly, you both regain +10 QI each. If you answer incorrectly, you alone lose the number of QI points indicated on the question card.
La Dynamite (The Dynamite)
If you answer correctly, you regain +10 QI. If you answer incorrectly, you lose -20 QI in addition to the penalty indicated on the question card.
Le Jetpack (The Jetpack)
If you answer correctly, you regain +30 QI. If you answer incorrectly, you lose the number of QI points indicated on the question card.
L'Armageddon
If you answer correctly, you regain +10 QI and all the other players lose -20 QI. If you answer incorrectly, you alone lose the number of QI points indicated on the question card.
