Game Rules
Goal
Be the first player to collect six cards.
Setup
The cards are placed in the card holder with the question side facing forward.
The first player is determined, then play proceeds clockwise.
Your Turn
Roll the die to determine the category colour. One of the other players takes the front card and reads the question of that category aloud. If the answer was correct, the card is placed behind the others.
Now roll the die again for a card question. If the second answer is also correct, place this card in front of you.
To earn another card, you must again first answer a question correctly, and then the card question from the next card. This continues until an answer is wrong. The turn then ends.
How to Win
The first person to collect six cards (and therefore has answered at least 12 questions correctly) wins!
If a player collects six cards in their first turn, the following players may still try to draw level in that round. The game would then already be over after the first round.
Not all players will have the same knowledge of the world of The Lord of the Rings™. The players can decide for themselves how much detailed knowledge to require and whether a question counts as answered correctly.
Tempo Variant
For a faster game, there is one card for each correct answer.
Using With the Classic Board Game
The cards can also be used with the classic Trivial Pursuit board game.
Categories
The question categories are marked by coloured wedges on the card and in the rules sheet:
- Heroes (Helden) – purple wedge
- Villains (Bösewichte) – blue wedge
- Objects (Gegenstände) – pink wedge
- Places and History (Orte und Geschichte) – orange wedge
- Weapons and Wars (Waffen und Kriege) – yellow wedge
- Film Production (Filmproduktion) – green wedge
