Introduction
Traveluencer is a trick-taking game. The game consists of three rounds, with seven tricks played in each round. Players may choose to play more than one card for each trick (also known as a turn) to form a higher combined value. The player who wins a trick receives Buzz Tokens. After three rounds, the player with the most accumulated Buzz Tokens wins.
Components
- 60 Post Cards (20 cards each of 3 types: Food, Scenery, Architecture. Each type includes three "1" and "2" cards, and two cards each of numbers "4" to "9".)
- 4 Stamp Cards (number "0")
- 4 Souvenir Cards (number "00")
- 10 Unexpected Event Cards
- 4 Reference Cards
- The winning player receives Buzz Tokens according to the quantity of winning post cards:
- 1-2 cards: 3
- 3-4 cards: 4
- 5+ cards: 5
- The winning player receives Buzz Tokens according to the quantity of winning post cards:
- 1 Pad of Score Sheets
- 42 Buzz Tokens
- 1 World Map
Setup
-
Place the World Map in the center of the table, clearly visible to all players. Reserve space next to the map for the discard pile.
-
Shuffle the Post Cards and Stamp Cards together, then randomly draw 7 of them and place them face down in the seven designated spaces around the World Map. Then, deal 14 cards to each player, along with 1 Souvenir Card, to form their hand. Any remaining card will be returned to the box without looking at it.
Note: In a three-player game, remove all cards marked with "● ● ● ●" and return them to the game box. These cards are not used in three-player games.
-
Place the Buzz Tokens aside for later use.
-
Shuffle the 10 Unexpected Event Cards, place 3 of them face down in the designated spaces on the World Map to form the unexpected event deck. (For the first playthrough, it is recommended not to include Unexpected Event Cards.)
-
The player who has traveled most recently becomes the starting player for the first turn of the first round. This starting player takes the Score Sheet and is responsible for recording the scores for the first round.
How to Play
At the beginning of each round, each player selects 3 cards from their hand and passes them face down simultaneously to the player on their left. Everyone then adds the newly received cards to their hand.
Once this is done, flip open all 7 cards next to the World Map. These cards represent the trending topics for each subsequent turn when players publish posts (Food / Scenery / Architecture). If a Stamp Card is revealed, it means there is no trending topic for that turn.
Publish a Post
Starting with the first player, take turns in clockwise order to play cards, representing the publication of a post. The first player may freely choose which type of card to play, and the number of cards played can be one or more (with no limit on the quantity). However, all cards played in a single turn must be of the same type.
Arrange the played cards in ascending order from left to right (smallest value on the far left, largest value on the far right) to form a numerical sequence. This sequence represents the view count the player gains from the post in that turn.
Example: The view count is 149.
If possible, the next player must play cards of the same type as the first player. Only if the player does not have any cards of that type in their hand may they play cards of another type.
Stamp Card and Souvenir Card
The Stamp Card has a number of "0" and cannot be played by the player who posted the last entry in the turn.
The Souvenir Card has a number of "00" and can only be played by the starting player of the turn.
The Stamp Card and Souvenir Card are not a type. They must be played together with Post Cards (Food / Scenery / Architecture).
The Stamp Card and the Souvenir Card can be played simultaneously (still paired with a post card), and multiple copies can be played at once. However, they must be placed at the end of the numerical sequence (i.e., on the right side).
Example: The played cards include Stamp Cards and a Souvenir Card. The view count is 1,490,000.
Determine the Most Popular Post
After all players have published their posts, compare the view count (numerical value) of each post. The player with the highest view count wins the trick. In case of a tie, the player who published their post first among the tied players wins.
The winning player receives Buzz Tokens according to the quantity of winning post cards:
| Winning post cards | Buzz Tokens |
|---|---|
| 1-2 cards | 3 |
| 3-4 cards | 4 |
| 5+ cards | 5 |
The winning player stacks the cards they played face down in front of themselves and places the earned Buzz Tokens on top of that stack. Other players discard their played cards face down into the discard pile.
Note: If a player wins in subsequent turn, they should place the winning card stacks separately in front of themselves to facilitate counting the total number of tricks won at the end of the round.
Special Cases
If a player plays a card of a different type than the starting player's, when determining the most popular post, check the turn's trending topic type:
- If the played card does not match the turn's trending topic type: Regardless of the numerical value played, the player cannot win the trick.
- If the played card matches the turn's trending topic type: Regardless of the numerical value played, the player wins the trick! If multiple players play cards matching the trending topic, their view counts are compared and the player with the highest value wins. If they are still tied, the player who published their post earlier wins.
- If there is no trending topic for the turn: Regardless of the numerical value played, the player cannot win the trick.
You have a keen sense, capturing the current trend!
Example: The starting player plays 8, with a view count of 8. The second player plays 5 and 6, forming 56, with a view count of 56. The third player plays 9 and a Stamp Card 0, forming 90, with a view count of 90. The fourth player has no cards of that type in hand and chooses to play the trending topic card of the turn (value 2). Although the fourth player's view count is lower than the others, their post revolves around the current trending topic, so they win the trick.
Prepare for the Next Turn and Unexpected Events
The player who wins this turn becomes the starting player for the next turn.
If the Unexpected Event Card rule is used, an Unexpected Event Card should be revealed before the second, fourth, and sixth turns: Draw the top card from the unexpected event deck, execute the content on the card, and then continue the game. For details about unexpected events, please refer to the "Unexpected Event Card List" below.
A journey always has a few surprises.
Round End and Preparation for the Next Round
After the seventh turn confirms the most popular post, the round ends. Record the total number of Buzz Tokens each player obtained in that round and the number of tricks won (count the number of card stacks in front of each player).
Once recording is complete, prepare for the next round. Perform game setup steps 2, 3, and 4 (refer to the Setup section above), and the player to the left of the one with the fewest accumulated Buzz Tokens becomes the new starting player. In case of a tie, randomly select one of the tied players, and the player to their left becomes the new starting player. The new starting player takes the Score Sheet and is responsible for recording the results in the next round.
Once preparations are complete, begin the next round.
Inspiration Dried Up
If a player has used all their hand cards before the round ends, resulting in the inability to play any cards in subsequent turns, that player must discard 2 Buzz Tokens each turn. If they have no Buzz Tokens, nothing happens.
Too long without updates, follower count drops.
Poor Planning
If a player still has hand cards remaining at the end of the round, they must discard 1 Buzz Token for each card. If they have no Buzz Tokens, nothing happens.
Chaotic scheduling hinders follower growth!
End of the Game
After the third round concludes and the scores are recorded, the game ends. The total number of Buzz Tokens is counted, and the player with the most Buzz Tokens wins, earning them the title of the Popular Travel Influencer!
In case of a tie, the player who has won the most tricks emerges victorious. If there is still a tie, the players share the victory.
Two-Player Game
Setup
Except for the following steps, the game setup is essentially the same as for a three- or four-player game:
-
In a two-player game, remove the cards marked with "● ● ●" and "● ● ● ●" and return them to the game box; these cards are not used in a two-player game.
-
Shuffle the Post Cards together with 2 Stamp Cards, then randomly remove 6 cards from the deck face down and set them aside.
-
Draw 5 cards from the deck in step 2 and add 2 Stamp Cards. Shuffle these 7 cards and place them face down in the seven designated spaces next to the World Map.
-
Deal 15 cards to each player. Each player must randomly place 5 of these cards face up in front of themselves. Each player should have 10 cards remaining in their hand.
How to Play
Except for the following instructions, the gameplay is the same as in games with three or four players.
Publish a Post
Starting with the first player, use cards from the hand or cards publicly displayed in front of oneself (or a mix of both) to create a post. After the second player creates a post, the first player may choose "Modifying the Post".
Modifying the Post
If the second player's post has more views than the first player's, the first player may select additional cards (one or more) from their hand or from the cards publicly displayed in front of themselves and add them to the previously played post, forming a new post.
After the first player modifies the post, if the view count becomes greater than the second player's, the second player may also modify their post. Note: When modifying a post, the second player cannot play Stamp Cards.
Modifying the post is not mandatory. Even if the view count is lower, a player may choose not to modify their post.
After a maximum of one modification by each side, the most popular post is confirmed.
The "Inspiration Dried Up" rule does not apply to two-player games.
Unexpected Event Card List
| Unexpected event | Content |
|---|---|
| Flight | All players select 1 card from their hand and simultaneously pass it face-down to the player on their left. Add the received card to your hand. |
| Rescheduled Network Disconnection | Shuffle all remaining face-up trending topic cards and place them back in random order. |
| Wrong Luggage | All players simultaneously pass all cards in their hand face-down to the player on their left. |
| Lost Passport | All players discard 1 card from their hand. If a player has no cards to discard, ignore this unexpected event. |
| Encountered a Thief | All players randomly draw 1 hand card from the player on their right simultaneously and add it to their hand. If the player on the right has no cards in hand, they cannot draw, but they may still have their card drawn by the player on their left. |
| Wind Shift | The player who gains the fewest Buzz Tokens this round may replace 1 face up trending topic card with 1 card from their hand, then add the replaced trending topic card to their hand. |
| Crossover | The player who gains the fewest Buzz Tokens this round draws 1 card from each other player's hand and adds them to their own hand. Then, they give 1 card from their hand to each player whose card was drawn. |

Note:
- "This turn": It generally refers to the turn in which cards will be played after an unexpected event has been revealed. Specifically, it applies to the second, fourth or sixth turns.
- "The player who gains the fewest Buzz Tokens": In case of a tie, the player closest in clockwise order to the starting player of this turn (including the starting player themselves) executes the content.
