Game Components

  • Game board
  • 8 caps (4 blue and 4 beige)

Setup

  1. Place the game board between the participants so that each of them has a corner with a bottle next to them.
  2. Place the 8 caps as shown in the diagram, so that they match the color of the bottle nearest to them.
  3. Each player will move the caps of the color that is closest to them at the start of the game.

Playing the Game

Players take turns.

On your turn you must move one of your caps, going through the following steps:

  1. Choose one cap of your color.
  2. Count the number of caps on all the spaces adjacent to it: horizontally, vertically and diagonally. Count caps of both colors.
  3. Move the chosen cap in a straight line exactly as many spaces horizontally, vertically or diagonally as the number you got in step 2.

You cannot move a cap:

  • off the game board;
  • onto a space with another cap of any color, or through such a space;
  • onto a corner space with a bottle of your own color.
  1. After the cap is moved, the turn passes to the other player.

Example: Next to the chosen cap there are 2 other caps, which means it can be moved exactly 2 spaces in a straight line in any direction.

Victory and Defeat

A player wins immediately if they move their cap onto the corner space with a bottle of the opponent's color.

A player loses immediately if, on their turn, they cannot move any of their caps according to the rules.

Setup Variants

After playing your first game, try different variants of the starting placement of the caps!
