- 1 tilting board with base
- 2 sliders (blocks)
- 2 metal balls
- 1 sheet of stickers
- 4 foam pads
- 1 rulebook
Objective
The first team to win 4 rounds wins the game! To win a round, give more answers than the other team and make the ball fall into your team's Victory zone!
Setup
- Stick the stickers onto the orange base and attach the foam pads in the 4 corners under the base.
- Assemble the orange base and attach the arms of the tilting board to it.
- Insert the blocks into the starting positions, marked by arrows.
Place the tilting board flat on a level surface and insert the ball into the hole!
Form two teams and sit on either side of the tilting board.
If you are several players on one team, decide your turn order (which player answers first, second, etc.). The youngest team starts.
Round One
Draw 3 Category cards and lay them on the table, symbol side up.
The first player of the first team chooses the card they prefer, turns it over, and announces the category out loud.
As soon as they are ready, they give an answer out loud that matches the announced category, then tilt the tilting board so that the ball rolls in the direction of their team!
It is then the turn of the first player of the other team to answer. They must give an answer before the ball falls into the opposing team's Victory zone.
After giving their answer, they turn the tilting board over so that the ball now rolls in the direction of their own Victory zone!
Note: Always give your answer BEFORE tilting the board! Tip: tilt the board with a sharp, quick movement to set the ball in motion.
The turn then passes to the second player of the starting team. The round continues this way until one team fails to give an answer before the ball falls into the other team's Victory zone.
Example
Team A's first player answers "Brie" and tilts the board in their own team's direction. Team B's first player answers "Parmesan" and turns the board in their own direction. Team A's second player answers "Gouda", Team B's second player answers "Mozzarella", and Team A's third player answers "Ricotta". Team B's third player gives no answer (shown as "X" in the example), so Team A wins the first round.
Rules for Answering
Can I whisper an answer to a teammate whose turn it is?
Yes, but it is that person who must give the answer out loud and tilt the board. You may not touch the tilting board when it is not your turn!
What if the other team has just repeated an answer that was already given?
Say "Repetition!" out loud and quickly tilt the board in your direction. The player on the other team must then give a new answer.
What if the other team has just given an incorrect answer?
Say "Challenge!" out loud, tilt the board in your direction, and quickly explain why the answer does not match the category.
The other team may either continue the round by giving a new answer, or contest the challenge. If they contest it, the team that was right wins the round!
What happens if a repetition or an incorrect answer is not flagged immediately?
If the next answer has been given and the board has been tilted, then the previous answer is still considered valid. Careful: it stands!
Next Round and Final Victory
After winning a round, the winning team moves its block and brings it one position closer to its Victory zone.
As a result, the board tilts less in that team's direction. The ball rolls more slowly in that direction, and the other team then has a little more time to answer!
After each round, the team that won moves its block toward its Victory zone, and the team that lost starts the next round by choosing the new Category card.
Teams may, between two rounds, decide again the order in which they will answer (if they wish).
Second Round
Place the tilting board horizontally again and insert the ball in the centre!
Discard the card that was played, then draw another card and place it symbol side up.
The team that lost the previous round chooses, from the 3 cards on the table, the card it prefers, turns it over, and announces the new category out loud. The round starts again: the first player of this team answers and tilts the board!
Victory
The team that brings its block into the last position, next to its Victory zone, wins the game!
