TV Set
After hours of efforts, the generator has finally started working and the screen is turning blue from its long-dead black. We have a couple of minutes to watch foreign news. Will it finally be good for us...?
Draw 1 card from this deck and resolve its back. (The card carries a red hand icon.)
Event Backs
Each TV SET card has one of the five event texts below on its back. Resolve the back of a TV SET card when it is drawn by this instruction. The printed cards give no further timing.
They Have Forgotten About Us
You have managed to watch the whole news: the Olympic Games, three car-crash victims, some election on the way, an interesting natural phenomenon, another corrupt politician. It seems viewers are tired of our war and its everyday casualties in such terrifying numbers...
Nothing happens.
Shuffle this card into the TV SET deck.
Hope
Are they really saying something true about our situation for a change? They say that peace talks are taking place and some intervention is being planned. All those talks and plans... They have lasted for over two years now. But maybe this time?
Look at the bottom card of the Ending Events in the Events deck.
- If it is the Ceasefire! Ending Event: reduce the Misery of every Character by 1. Then remove this card from the game.
- If it is not the Ceasefire! Ending Event: remove that Ending Event card from the game. Then shuffle this card into the TV SET deck.
Interference
You are trying to tune the television, but your efforts are useless. You will not see anything today.
Nothing happens.
Remove this card from the game.
Advertising...
Finally, great news for today: there is a new pizza flavour available, we can get a better car this season, or take a pill to ease stomachs when they are full of good food. Oh, and all of this ends with an advertisement for an exciting digital war game. After all, war is tremendously exciting, isn't it?
Raise this Character's Misery by 1.
Then shuffle this card into the TV SET deck.
They Are Talking About Us
Somewhere between a preview of a new TV series and the sports news, they mentioned the war we are trying to survive. They say it is not so bad and that the number of casualties is greatly exaggerated. Yet our country remains excluded from the holiday destination offers...
Raise this Character's Misery by 1.
Then remove this card from the game.
