Components
- 5 new Arcana cards: The Musicians, The Ash, The North Wind, The Fall, The Thief
Mandatory Effects
The publisher's product description says: "These effects allow the cards to manipulate the game state even when they are not being played on." The cards mark these effects with the trigger lines "Each turn:" and "After playing somewhere else:" (see the card text below). No further mandatory-effect rules are printed on the cards.
Cards
The Musicians ("make 11")
If the sum of your fates plus up to one visible fate is 11, play one of your fates here.
The Ash ("fragile")
Play a 7 here.
Each turn: I fade if a 1 or 2 was played anywhere this turn.
The North Wind ("tiers")
If one of your fates has exactly 1 more [symbol] than the other, play one of them here.
Transcription note: the symbol after "1 more" is a small diamond pictogram on the card. It is reproduced here as [symbol] because its exact meaning could not be confirmed from the card scan (see Gaps below).
The Fall ("inevitable")
Play one of your fates here.
Each turn: I fade if the sum of my visible fates is at least double your unplayed fate.
The Thief ("steal")
After playing somewhere else: Move a visible fate higher than your unplayed fate from another card to this one, if possible.
Gaps and Judgment Calls
- No rules sheet. No standalone Stars Below rules document was found on the publisher site, retailer pages, BGG files, or other rulebook catalogues. This file is a card-only transcription; the card text is the only source.
- Card pictograms not transcribed. The small circle icons along the bottom of each card, and the arrow graphic on The Ash and The Fall, are not transcribed in words. Their meaning is not stated in the printed text.
- The North Wind symbol. The diamond pictogram after "1 more" is shown as [symbol] and not identified, because the card scan does not let its meaning be confirmed.
- Highlighted trigger text. On the cards, "Each turn:" and "After playing somewhere else:" are printed with a gold underline. They are shown here in bold.
- Base-game terms. Terms such as fate, fade, visible, played and unplayed are used as printed on the cards and are defined by the base game's rules, not repeated here.
