Can a build discount reduce the extra guilders added for building late?
Yes, per forum replies: the extra guilders are part of the building cost, so discounts like the craftsman can reduce them. One player reports epoch 4 doubling affects only the resource cost, not the extra guilders. Neither point is a formal ruling.
