Aim of the Game
The emoji card game is all about collecting a complete set of five emoji cards in your hand. Use the action cards to swap emojis, pick on your opponents and attempt to win the hilarious all-play competitions!
Contents
One pack of action cards (including four rules cards) and one pack of emoji cards.
Get Ready
Give the action cards a shuffle and place the pack face down within reach of all players.
During play, you will return used action cards face up next to the original pile to form a discard pile.
Shuffle the emoji pack, deal five emoji cards to each player and place the remaining cards face down next to the action pile. Take the first emoji card from the top of the pile and turn it over to start off the emoji discard pile.
The layout of the cards should now look something like this (left to right): Emoji Discard Pile (the turned-over emoji card, a 'Feeling confused' set), Emoji Pile, Action Pile, Action Discard Pile (the Unicorn horn card, face up).
Card caption: Unicorn horn (retain this card!)
At any point from now until your next turn, put your finger on your forehead like a unicorn horn. All players must join in – the last to do so must discard their entire hand and pick five new cards.
Let's Play
Play begins with the youngest player and continues clockwise around the group.
On Your Turn
Take one action card: Always start your turn by picking up an action card and then play it immediately (unless it states 'retain this card!'). Carry out the action as described on the card.
Take one emoji card: Once the action has been completed, finish your turn by picking up one new emoji card and review your hand, before returning an emoji card to the discard pile.
To summarise, your turn consists of picking up and carrying out the instructions on one action card and then picking up a new emoji card before discarding one from your hand.
Everyone should always be left with five cards in their hand after their turn is complete.
Note: Some actions will result in you swapping one or more emoji cards, but regardless of this, after you've completed your action you always finish your turn by picking up an emoji card and discarding one.
When the last emoji card has been picked up, turn over the emoji discard pile so that the cards are face down and continue from there.
Cards to Look Out For
'I'm feeling all mixed up!' Cards
These can be used in place of any emoji! They are very helpful, and there is no limit to how many you can collect! You can even win with a hand of five 'mixed up' cards!
Card caption: 'I'm feeling all mixed up!' – This emoji can be used as a face in ANY set!
'All Play' Actions
These cards require all players to participate and they are all quite silly – make sure everyone gets involved! These cards either require the group to come to a decision about who the winner is, or they require everyone to keep a beady eye on all their opponents to see if anyone slips up on the group challenge!
'VS' Actions
These cards create a one-on-one competition between the person who picked the card and one other player. Choose your opponent and carry out the action described on the card.
To Win
The winner is the first person to collect a full set of five emoji cards. As soon as you win, announce 'I'M FEELING
Good luck, and have fun!
