Can a player pass instead of taking a task card?
The rulebook has each crew member select one task at a time with no pass option, and players who checked both rulebooks confirm passing is a Deep Sea rule.
No — in The Crew: The Quest for Planet Nine everyone picks a task on their turn until all are taken, and the commander must also take one. The option to pass when there are fewer tasks than players appeared only in the sequel, Mission Deep Sea.
