New Map - The Castle

During setup, players may choose which map to use. This expansion provides the Castle map. This section will introduce the special features of the map.

Lever Control

During the Survivor's setup, place the contraption gate near the map for future use.

Any Survivor in the R1 Lever Control may do an extra action: Place the contraption gate on a door. There is only one contraption gate in the game, if there is already one on the map, the Survivor may remove it and place it somewhere else when doing this action.

The contraption gate works similarly to a block token, the Survivors cannot [MOVE] through it. The difference is that the Killer must discard 3 hands in order to [MOVE] through it and remove it. If the Killer cannot, or does not want to discard 3 cards, they cannot [MOVE] through it either.

Once the contraption gate is placed or removed, the player should immediately informs the opposing team to do the same on their map.

Statue Corridor

At the end of setup, the Survivors place the statue corridor token on B4 Statue Corridor.

When a Survivor [MOVE] into B4 Statue Corridor and the token is there, [FEAR] that Survivor and remove the token.

Survivor - George

Special setup:

  • During the Survivor's setup, place all George's notes under his Survivor board.

Gameplay:

  • Whenever you gain a George's note, select one from this area and add it into your inventory.

Further explanation of Brainy and Smart:

  • If you choose to +1 repair progress, you do not need to place a noise token. (Remember, the Survivors can only increase the repair progress once in a round.)
  • If you choose to draw an item card and it makes a noise, you still need to place a noise token in your location.

Note: the sheet prints the noise symbol as a yellow warning-triangle icon; it is written here as "noise token".

Killer - Statues

Special setup:

  • Playing as the Statues can experience the hunt by controlling not only 1, but 4 characters. When placing the Killer's miniatures, place 2 Statures in the location with the hidden exit. Place the other 2 Statues in the location with the main exit.

The sheet shows this setup with two diagrams: the R4 Chamber with the Hidden Exit (Require Secret Map) on its side, and the G1 Gatehouse with the Main Exit at its bottom.

  • Just before the beginning of the first Survivors' turn, the Killer secretly choose 1 of the Statues to be the Main Statue. Place the Main Statue marker on it. The Main Statue is more active and deadly to the Survivors. The rules regarding the Main Statues will be explained later.

The sheet shows four Statue miniatures, one labeled "Main Statue" and three labeled "Other Statues".

Gameplay:

  • All skill cards of the Statues either affect only the Main Statue or all Statues stated in the text.
  • Only the Main Statue can perform normal actions ([MOVE]/[STEALTH]).
  • The Survivors can mark the Main Statue with Statue marker.

The sheet shows the two Statue markers as "Confirmed Main Statue" and "Possible Main Statue".

  • During the Survivors' turns, a Survivor may do a special action: Freeze a lone Statue in their location. That Survivor cannot perform any other action (including extra actions) in this turn.
  • A frozen Statue cannot [MOVE] or [SEARCH] under any circumstances until the end of a Killer's turn.
  • If a Statue has been frozen, on the Killer side, place a freeze marker on it. At the end of the Killer's turn, remove the freeze markers.
  • If any Statue has been frozen, the Killer may still use any skill card for "all Statues" but the frozen ones cannot [MOVE] or [SEARCH] during the effect. For example, when the Killer uses Patrolling, all Statues except the frozen ones can [MOVE] x 0 - 1.

Important rule only for the Statues:

Unlike other Killers, the Statues will not stop the Survivors from searching nor repairing!

Further explanation of Reposition:

  • The Statues cannot place a new block token using this skill. They may only move an existing block token on the map to another door.

Further explanation of Encirclement:

  • When using this skill, [MOVE] all Statues first. Then, each Statue [SEARCH] one-by-one based on the order you choose.
  • Once a Statue encounters any Survivor, other Statues will not continue to [SEARCH] because the Killer's turn will always end immediately after an encounter.

Playing the Statues with trait cards:

  • All extra abilities on the trait cards apply to the Main Statue only.
  • Take "Terror Aura" as an example, the Killer needs to inform the Survivors which one is the Main Statue and [FEAR] those in the same location with it.
  • Take "Perilous Ambush" as an example, only the Main Statue [STEALTH]. In some rare cases, the Main Statue can be switched during [STEALTH]. The Statue in [STEALTH] reappears normally next turn although it is no longer the Main Statue.

Playing against the Statues with plan cards or George:

  • Regarding the conditions and effects on plan cards and Survivors, all Statues are counted as the Killer. The following cases may help clarifying this:
  • George can gain a note when he is in 1 range with ANY Statues.
  • Standing with ANY Statues can progress the plan if the next progress requires any Survivors being in the Killer's location.
  • In the case of using "Strike Back! Explosive Trap", if ANY Statues [SEARCH] the plan token location with no Survivors there, the Survivors win the game.
