Preludes with actions and effects

Some Prelude cards have effects or actions, just like corporation cards do. Such cards work like blue cards, but neither corporations nor preludes ever count as blue cards (for example, they don't count as blue cards towards milestones or awards).

Required expansions

On most of the cards, you will find expansion marks along with the Prelude mark. These markings show the expansions required to play this card. During setup, make sure you only play with correct cards (or you can have these cards in the deck, and if you draw a card belonging to an expansion you don't play with, discard it and draw a new card).

Decks and discard piles

Just like project cards, prelude cards and corporations have their own card decks and discard piles on the table. All preludes and corps that are discarded in setup (or during the game) are placed face down in their respective discard piles. If you run out of corps or preludes, shuffle the discard pile to form a new deck.

Prelude refund

If you are about to play a Prelude card and it turns out you cannot play it (perform all its effects), you must reveal and discard it to receive 15 M€ instead.

Variant: Extended Start

During setup, choose from 3 corporations and 6 preludes, instead of the normal 2 and 4.
