Aim of the Game

Be the last player in the game after all the other players have knocked items off the beach.

Setting Up the Game

Before you start playing, build the game using the LEGO building instructions provided in the set. Building the game teaches you about the pieces and how you can use them. This makes it easier to rebuild the game or change the rules later on.

Build the LEGO Dice using the tiles shown below: (six coloured tiles, pictured in the rulebook).

Place the sunshades beside the board. Each player chooses a beach chair.

LEGO tool: The set includes a tool to help you take tiles off the LEGO Dice.

Playing the Game

The youngest player goes first. Play then continues clockwise.

On your turn roll the LEGO Dice and carry out the action you rolled.

Watch out! If you knock a beach chair, sunshade or rubbish bin off the beach you are out of the game!

Sunshade

Take a sunshade matching the colour you rolled and place it firmly onto an empty beach space so that it stands up straight. If there are no sunshades of the colour you rolled, take a sunshade of a different colour instead.

Big Sunshade

Move the big sunshade to a different position on the beach. You must place the base of the sunshade firmly onto four empty beach spaces.

Beach Chair

Move your beach chair to a different position on the beach. You must place the base of the chair firmly onto two empty beach spaces.

You may not place your chair side-to-side with another chair.

You may not place your chair next to a rubbish bin.

Rubbish Bin

Move any rubbish bin to a different position on the beach. You must place the bin firmly onto an empty beach space. If there are now any beach chairs on any of the eight spaces around the rubbish bin, those players must immediately move their chairs to different positions on the beach.

Placing and Moving Items

You may hold, rotate or pick up the board during your turn. If you knock anything off the beach, or cannot place or move an item in your turn, you are out of the game! Remove any loose items before the next player's turn.

You may not place or move any item into the sea.

LEGO tilt: The best way to pick up a LEGO piece is by tilting it before you lift it.

Winning the Game

The last player in the game wins.

Change: Your Game, Your Rules

LEGO Games are made to be changed. You can rebuild the game or the LEGO Dice, change the pieces or even the rules! Every little change makes it more and more your game.

The secret to changing a game is to only change one thing at a time. If you like the change keep it, if not try another. Get started by trying these suggestions, but remember to make sure everyone knows all the rules before you start playing.

Sunshade Shuffle

Rebuild the sunshades so that sunshades of the same colour have different heights.

Shifting Sunshades

Now when you roll "Big sunshade" you may move ANY sunshade already on the beach to a different position.

Grab the Crab

Place the crab beside the board. Now when you roll "Rubbish bin" you may move a rubbish bin as normal, or place the crab on any of the four special sea spaces. If there are now any beach chairs on any of the four beach spaces in front of the crab, those players must immediately move their chairs to different positions on the beach.

You may not place your chair on any of the four beach spaces in front of the crab.
