Setup
Instead of the base game's two heroes (the Officer and the Warrior), the Defender may choose to draw two random heroes from the ten new cards in this expansion.
The Defender player must determine which hero marker (red and green) belongs to which hero, and must tell the Attacker this before the game begins.
Heroes
Stefan de Morena, the Kordian
Strength: 2
During the siege the Defender may choose to repeat the Compare Forces step on the wall section where Stefan de Morena is located. Thus, after the ranged combat, the sides' strength will be compared twice before proceeding to any step of melee combat.
Thomas Tilk, the Szinézian
Strength: 1
On the wall section where Thomas Tilk is located, the Attacker's order is not carried out.
Gardon, the Gordian
Strength: 1
Gardon ignores one wound that the Attackers inflicted on the Defenders. In other words, the Defender will suffer one wound fewer than the Attackers' superiority would have caused.
Berg Dor Warde, the Dorian
Strength: 2
For 2 hourglasses, Berg can summon the spirit of a killed soldier. The Defender uses the dice of the destroyed Goblins to mark the summoned spirits. The action cannot be carried out if neither snipers nor Goblins have been removed from the game (that is, there are no white dice that could mark the spirits).
Each spirit has strength 1. Spirits move with Dor. Spirits do not need a place in order to fight and cannot be destroyed (once summoned, spirits remain on the board until the end of the game).
Berger, the Ragádian
Strength: 2
Berger can destroy one attacking unit on the wall section where he is currently located. Destroying a Goblin costs 1 hourglass, an Orc costs 2, and a Troll costs 3.
Mark Tavić, the Agarian
Strength: X
Every soldier (the Defender's dice of strength 2) on the wall section where Mark is located gets +1 strength.
Furthermore, the Agarian may increase the strength of the wall section by paying 1 to 4 hourglass markers (gaining +1 strength for each hourglass paid).
Tanax Mildo, the Nordian
Strength: 1
Those snipers located on the same wall section as the Nordian may also shoot even if they are engaged in melee combat. Furthermore, they may also shoot at the rally camp that is on the same side of the castle as they are.
Translator's note: the printed text reads "Noridaival" ("with the Noridai") here. This is evidently a misprint for "Nordiaival" (with the Nordian), Tanax's own epithet, and is rendered as the Nordian.
Tanja Bruno, the Mátrian
Strength: 1
Each time the Defender suffers a wound on the wall section where Tanja is located, the Attacker suffers the same amount of wounds on that same wall section (in other words, the Attacker loses from its full strength as many units as its superiority). The Defender takes the wounds only after the melee combat step has been completed.
Janos Matić, the Kariani
Strength: 2
János can consecrate the water of the cauldrons on the wall section where he is located. By paying 1 hourglass, the cauldron may destroy any one attacking unit, regardless of its colour (for example, a Troll cauldron may destroy an Orc or a Goblin).
Gaston McKenzie, the Bardan
Strength: 1
During the ranged combat step, Gaston may also shoot, under the same rules as apply to snipers. However, his strength is then 2, and he may shoot even if the wall section he is on is the scene of melee combat.
