Contents

  • 60 Content Cards. For each of 5 genres there are 12 cards: Fiction, Documentary, Reality show, Sports, Animation. Of these 12, ten have a value from 1 to 10 showing the number of subscribers obtained, and there are 2 special "multiscreen" cards.
  • 1 "Remote Control" card. This card indicates who won the last bid.
  • 9 Audience Cards (with different actions on both sides). These cards represent, by modifying the basic rules of the game, what the public wants to watch.
  • 70 coins. Players use coins to bid for content. 60 silver coins have a value of 1 each and the 10 golden coins have a value of 3 each.
  • 1 Score Sheet Pad and Pencil. Use the score sheet to note the number of subscribers (points) obtained by players in each round and the total at the end of the game.

Setup

  1. Prepare the deck of Content Cards in accordance with the number of players.

    • For 5 players, use all the Content Cards.
    • For 4 players, return to the box all the "multiscreen" cards.
    • For 3 players, return to the box all the "multiscreen" cards and cards showing values 9 and 10.
    • Note: If you want to play with "multiscreen" cards but with fewer than 5 players, return all cards with value 1 to the box and add one "multiscreen" card for each type of content.
  2. Give each player 10 silver coins and leave the remaining coins to form the bank. Players should not be able to see other players' coins.

  3. Create the sofa for the audience by taking 4 Audience cards at random (one from the far left, two from the centre and one from the far right). The remaining cards should be returned to the box and will not be used in the game. Place the 4 chosen cards on any side.

For the first games we recommend using the following combinations (Audience card numbers):

    • 02 / 09 / 12 / 18
    • 03 / 05 / 10 / 18
    • 04 / 06 / 13 / 17
  4. The player that has most recently watched streamed content (or a randomly chosen player) takes the "Remote Control" card.

  5. Write players' names on the score sheet, or invent a name for each streaming channel, and place it nearby to note the points after each round.

How to Play

Each game consists of five rounds divided into 3 sections that must be played in order:

Auctions > Promotion > Earnings

After the fifth round the final tally will be taken.

1. Auctions

At the beginning of each round, in the centre of the table place as many pairs of Content cards as the number of players plus one.

One by one, from the pair of cards furthest from the deck to that nearest to the deck, each pair of cards is auctioned. To bid, all players hide a number of coins in their fist; all hands are shown at the same time.

Example: game with three players and four pairs of Content cards. The auction order runs from the pair furthest from the deck (4) to the pair nearest to it (1).

The player with the highest bid will take the pair of cards, pay the money to the bank, and take the "Remote Control" card. The remaining players keep their coins. In the case of a tie, the winner will be the player seated to the left of the player that has the "Remote Control" card at that moment.

If no player wants to bid for a pair of cards, that pair is discarded.

Cards collected by players will be shown in front of each player and ordered by type of content. They should be placed one upon the other showing the value of each and with the latest card obtained on the top, without altering the order of any already on the table.

If a player obtains in an auction two cards with the same content, they can be placed in any order.

Example: Rachel has 10 coins, bid 7 and has won two Fiction cards. She places them in the order she prefers, in this case with value 8 on top.

2. Promotion

After auctioning the last pair of cards, players can use their coins to promote their content. To do this one coin should be placed on each of the top cards of the content that they want to promote, noting on the score sheet the points that are shown by the value of the cards.

Multiscreen Cards. The value of these special cards is equal to the number of cards of that type of content that the player has in front of them, including the multiscreen card.

Coins used for points are returned to the bank.

Example: Rachel has three coins left. She uses one on Fiction 8, another on the Documentary multiscreen card (which gives her 3 points) and she keeps the third coin for later bids. She notes 11 points on the score sheet.

3. Earnings

Each player gets 10 coins, except in the last round. Players keep coins not used in previous rounds.

End of the Game

After the last round, players count the number of cards of each type they have (not the value of the cards). The player with the highest number of cards per content receives the value of them as points. In the case of a tie, all the players with the highest number of cards receive points.

Additionally each player wins 1 point for each coin they still have.

The player with the most points (millions of subscribers) wins the game. In the case of a tie, the winners share the victory.

Example: Rachel is the player with the most Documentary cards and gets 20 points (6+2+4+8). She also has 3 coins left making a total of 23 points on her score sheet.

Audience Cards

Each Audience card adds or modifies a rule related to one or more sections of the game, or to the final tally, as shown on each card.

01 - REALITY SHOWS - All

Once per game, at any time, get 1 coin for each Reality Show.

Mark with an "X" next to your name on the score sheet when you use this card.

02 - REALITY SHOWS - Earnings

Player(s) with the most Reality shows receive 2 coins.

During the earnings section of the last round, coins are obtained with this Audience card.

03 - GENERAL - Earnings

Each player gets 1 coin for each type of content that did not receive points in the promotion section.

During the earnings section of the last round coins can be obtained for this Audience card.

04 - GENERAL - Auctions

During the last round of the game, the winner of each auction can choose which pair of content cards they want to keep.

05 - SPORTS - Promotion

Each player can get more points from their Sports content by paying 1 coin for each card in order from the top card to the bottom.

Example: if a player has ordered from bottom to top Sports content 1, 8, 2, 5, they can place 3 coins to get 5+2+8=15 points.

06 - SPORTS - Auctions

The first player to get 4 Sports cards gets points immediately.

If a player gets the 4th and 5th Sports card in the same auction, only the first four cards count for points. In other words the card placed last on the set does not count for points.

07 - GENERAL - Final

Each player receives points for their card (or cards) with the lowest value for each type of content.

If a player has 2 or 3 cards with the same value, for example with multiscreen cards, they receive points for all.

Example: a player that has Documentary cards with values 5, 3 and multiscreen (worth 3 as it is the value of the number of cards in the set) would get 6 points for this type of content.

08 - GENERAL - Promotion

Each player gets points for the cards with the lowest value.

Take into account that multiscreen cards have a variable value depending on the number of content cards in the set.

Example: a player with Sports 4, Sports 2, Fiction 2 and a Fiction multiscreen card (which is worth 2 because the player only has 2 cards) receives 6 points (3 cards x 2 points).

09 - DOCUMENTARY - Promotion

Each player receives 2 points for each Documentary.

10 - DOCUMENTARY - All

Documentary cards can be placed on other content cards thereby becoming that content.

After winning an auction, Documentary cards can be placed forming their own set, but they can also be placed on your other content card sets and will be classed as that content until the end of the game.

11 - GENERAL - Promotion

Pay 2 coins to receive points for the cards with the highest value for each type of content, instead of 1 coin for the card on top.

Combined with Audience card 05, if you have already received points for the highest card by paying 1 coin, you can receive points once again by paying 2 coins more.

12 - GENERAL - Auctions

The first player to get 5 different types of content receives 20 points.

Combined with Audience card 10, players need to have Documentary cards in a set and not use them as wild cards.

13 - ANIMATION - All

The player with the highest number of Animation cards always wins ties where they are involved.

This includes ties in auctions, by majority in the final section and related to Audience cards 01 and 16. If more than one player has the same number of Animation cards, the tiebreak follows the normal rules.

14 - ANIMATION - Auctions

All players lose the coins placed for auction if the auction includes Animation cards.

15 - FICTION - Final

Each player receives 4 points for each type of content with a value equal to or less than the number of Fiction cards.

16 - FICTION - Final

All players receive points for their Fiction cards except the player(s) with the least number of cards. The player(s) with the highest number of Fiction cards does not receive points for their cards a second time.

17 - GENERAL - Final

Each player receives 5 points for each series of 2 or more content cards with the same value.

18 - GENERAL - Final

Players can promote their content once again with leftover coins.
