Components
- 108 game cards. Each card has a word or phrase.
- 5 card stands.
- A booklet of game sheets and 5 pencils.
Objective
During the game, you will receive cards from other players. You cannot look at what is written on the cards, and must place the side of card with words facing out on your card stand. The first player to correctly guess what is written on all the cards on your card stand wins the game.
Set-up
-
The cards are grouped into 12 categories. Before starting a game, confirm the number of players, then give each player cards from the number of categories below.
- 3 Players: Select 3 categories.
- 4 Players: Select 4 categories.
- 5 Players: Select 5 categories.
- The number of categories needed.
-
Each player takes 1 game sheet and 1 pencil. Circle the categories that you will play in the game. For example, if you choose to use ABGJ categories, circle ABGJ categories on the sheet.
-
Shuffle the cards in the categories you have picked. Hand out to each player the number of cards as below. For the cards left over, put it in a stack facing down. You will not use those extra cards.
- The number of cards received at beginning:
- 3 Players: 8 cards each.
- 4 Players: 8 cards each.
- 5 Players: 7 cards each.
- The number of cards received at beginning:
-
Each player looks at the cards he/she was given, and gives each of the other players a card/cards (number of cards given as below). When giving cards to other players, put the side of card with words facing down, so he/she cannot see what is written on the card. Keep the cards you have left over.
- The number of cards put face down for each player:
- 3 Players: Put 2 cards down.
- The number of cards put face down for each player:
Remarks: Since each card has a totally different word or phrase on it, you may want to give a card to some players at the same time. Or the cards you have are not suitable for the other players. Do not concern too much, just base on your intuition to give a card to someone.
Game Sequence
- The youngest player in the group goes first.
- When it's your turn, guess what is written on one of the cards on your card stand. You have 1 guess each turn. If you guess correctly, the other players will take that card off your stand.
- If you guessed incorrectly, you can cross out the word/phrase you guessed on your game sheet so you won't guess it again.
- Whether you guess correctly or incorrectly, it is the next player's turn to guess.
When one of the players has no cards left in front of him/her card stand, he/she wins the game!
Game Example
-
With 4 players, pick 4 categories. After shuffling the cards in those categories, give each player 8 cards.
-
Each player picks a card that describes each of the other players the best, and places the cards face down in front of the other players.
- Playing this game can make you "sentimental"....
- Hmm....He is "impatient".
- Seems quite "learned".
-
Each player collects the cards the other players gave him/her, gathers the cards carefully without looking at the words/phrase, and puts the cards on the card stand with the side of card with words facing out.
- What card will I receive?
- May I start the game? May I? Please?
- Example stand: "Naughty", "Talking nonstop", "Love to show off".
-
When each player has put the cards on his/her card stand, the game can begin. Start from the youngest player.
- Do I "Talking nonstop"?
- Who gave me the card? come on! lol! lol!
- Oh my! Someone did give me this card!
- Do I really "Talking nonstop"?
-
If a player guesses correctly, the other players will take that card off the player's stand. After each guess, it is the next player's turn.
- So I do "Talking nonstop"! lol! lol!
