60 Word Cards, 6 Selection Dials, 2 Pause Tokens

Objective of the Game

The players listen to the music and try to choose the same word. When all the players manage to select the same word, they keep the card as a success. The players can acquire up to 7 points as a team.

Set Up

  1. Before your first game, assemble the Selection Dials by connecting the silver knob discs over the white numbered volume discs.
  2. Each player takes a Selection Dial.
  3. Shuffle the Word Cards and place the top eight cards in a deck in the center of the table, QR code side up. The remaining cards will not be used.
  4. The person who has played the most recent instrument becomes the deck operator. The deck operator should prepare to scan the QR codes on the cards with their smartphone.
  5. The deck takes the Pause Token. It's time to start the game! (Pause Token are not used when the 2 player game.)

Play

  1. A turn begins with the deck operator flipping and revealing the top card of the Word Card deck, placing it next to the deck. The deck operator scans the QR code of the current top card of the Word Deck. Press the play button on the resulting screen to stream a song or sounds.

[Example] Set the groove on the dial to the desired number. Make sure no one else can see your dial yet! (The example illustration shows one player with "number 3 selected" and another with "number 5 selected".)

  1. Each player listens closely to the recording and, while referring to the current faceup Word Card, secretly sets their own dial to the number next to the word that best suits the recording. Players should not discuss or otherwise signal their choice during this process.
    • When 5 players play, use (select) the numbers 1-4 on the card.
    • When 6 players play, use (select) the numbers 1-3 on the card.
  2. The player with the Pause Token chooses another player and gives that player the Pause Token. The player who received the token for the current Word Card will be considered to have chosen the same number as the rest of the players if they all chose the same number.
    • Following the difficulfiesf the players, players can use up to 2 tokens. (Editor's note: this line is printed as "difficulfiesf" in the source; it appears to read "difficulties of the players", but the text is transcribed as printed.)
  3. Everyone counts to three and reveals their dials at the same time.

If all players revealed the same number - SUCCESS! Place this card faceup with any other successes in a pile off to the side. The number of successes will be the teams score for this game.

If even one player (Excepting the player who received the Pause Token for this Word Card) shows a different number from any other player - FAILURE! Remove the current Word Card from the game.

At this time, the players may freely discuss how they made their decision. Afterwards, start a new turn by flipping the next card of the Word Card deck and repeat the process from step one of Play!

Game End

When a turn ends with only one card left in the Word Deck, the game is over. The players count their number of successes to determine the team's score.
