How to Play

The rules are presented on a single instruction sheet, narrated by the Start Player meeple.

Shuffle the Deck

To play, first shuffle the deck of Start Player cards.

Flip a Card

One person flips over a card and reads the description at the bottom out loud.

Determine the Start Player

Give the Start Player meeple to the player who is the start player, as identified by the card just read.

Ties

In case of a tie, the arrow on the card points to the winner among any tied players.

Disputes

In case of a dispute between players, flip another card.

Next Game

The player who has the Start Player meeple may not be the start player for the next game.

Card Notes

Each Start Player card names a quick, silly way to pick who goes first, illustrated with meeples, and gives an arrow to break ties among the qualifying players. Examples from the deck include:

• Caked On — The player who is wearing the most makeup is the Start Player.
• Yodeler — The next player to yodel is the Start Player.
• Oral Fixation — The next player to put something in their mouth is the Start Player.
• Unbuttoned — The player who has the most unbuttoned buttons is the Start Player.
• Purrfection — The player who has the most cats is the Start Player.
• Shortest — The player who is shortest is the Start Player.
