How do Wedge Antilles, Expose and Intimidation change defense and attack dice?

Wedge Antilles lowers the defender's agility by one for his own attack only, and it returns afterwards. Expose and Intimidation likewise only change agility, not the number of dice rolled, so Range 3 and obstruction bonus dice still add defense dice on top. One player argued from the FAQ's "ignore any minimum of 0 until the calculation is complete" that Intimidation could leave a ship with zero dice; the other replies did not accept that.
