The Force
-
"The Force" is a game mechanic that revolves around a special token: the Force token. This token is created in a player's base zone. A player can only ever control one Force token at a time. If a player is instructed to create their Force token when they already control their Force token, they ignore that part of the ability.
-
If an ability gives a player the instruction, "The Force is with you," that player create their Force token.
-
Some card abilities check whether "the Force is with you"; this statement is true for a player if that player currently controls their Force token.
-
If an ability instructs a player to "Use the Force," they may defeat their Force token. If they do, they are considered to have Used the Force. A player may not Use the Force if they do not control their Force token.
Tokens: Force Token
- A Force token is a type of token with name "The Force," subtype "Force Token," and no traits. A player's Force token is created in their base zone. A player can't control more than one Force token. See 8.38 The Force
Base Zone: Force Token
- A player's Force token is created in their base zone. See 8.38 The Force
Card Text: FORCE Trait Watermark
- As of Legends of the Force, units with the FORCE trait have a watermark in their text box as a visual reminder of that trait. This watermark has no mechanical meaning.
Errata
Errata from the Star Wars: Unlimited rules page (starwarsunlimited.com, "Errata" list). This is a publisher errata entry, not text from the Comprehensive Rules PDF. The rules page prints the bold keyword as "Hiddenfor"; the space before "for" is restored here.
Third Sister (Legends of the Force, 10) – On Attack: The next unit you play this phase gains Hidden for this phase.
