What happens if you lose reputation with a faction you already have negative reputation with?
The rulebook says extra loss at negative reputation has no effect.

Nothing. Reputation cannot go below negative, or above positive, so extra gains or losses have no effect. A plain 'lose 1 reputation' effect still resolves its other parts.
