What order do players pick characters and ambitions in setup (Unfinished Business)?
Two replies describe the same setup order, and the Unfinished Business rules say ambitions are chosen starting with the last player in reverse turn order.

Characters are chosen in player order starting with the first player, then ambitions are chosen in reverse player order, so the last player picks an ambition first.
