What happens when a non-hero figure would suffer strain?
The official Rules Reference Guide states this.

In a campaign it suffers the same amount of damage instead, since only heroes have Endurance and strain. In a skirmish the controlling player may prevent that damage by discarding Command cards from the top of his deck.
