Components and Integration

This pack provides the Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Knight plastic figure that can be used when playing a mission. The other components in this expansion are incorporated as follows:

  • Add the Deployment, Command, and Item cards to their supplies.
  • Add the Side Mission card to the pool of green Side Mission cards. The heroes can choose this card when building the Side Mission deck at the start of a campaign.
  • Shuffle the Skirmish Mission cards into the Skirmish Mission deck. These cards use the "Anchorhead Bar" map (see below).

Component Breakdown

  • 1 Plastic Figure (Obi-Wan Kenobi)
  • 3 Deployment Cards (2 Obi-Wan Kenobi, Channel the Force)
  • 3 Command Cards (I Must Go Alone, A Powerful Influence, Force Surge)
  • 1 Item Card (Ancient Lightsaber)
  • 1 Side Mission Card (Deadly Transmission)
  • 2 Skirmish Mission Cards (Anchorhead Bar)

Figure Cost

Each figure in Imperial Assault has a figure cost that may be referenced by abilities and game effects. A figure cost is one of two values:

  • If a deployment group has a starting group size of 1, that figure's figure cost is equal to the group's deployment cost.
  • If a deployment group has a starting group size of 2 or more, each figure in that group has a figure cost equal to the group's reinforcement cost.

Neutral Deployment Cards

Deployment cards with a Neutral icon and card back do not belong to an affiliation. When creating an army for a skirmish, a player may choose to include Neutral Deployment cards as if they belonged to his affiliation. Neutral Deployment cards cannot be used in a campaign.

Time Period

In order to allow a more open-ended play experience, the missions in this expansion do not include time periods and can therefore be used in any campaign.

Deployment Card Restrictions

Some Deployment cards can be used in only one style of play in Imperial Assault. A Deployment card marked with a Campaign Deployment Icon can be used only in a campaign, while a Deployment card marked with a Skirmish Deployment Icon can be used only in a skirmish.

The sheet shows the two markings as examples, each beside the name "Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Knight":

  • Campaign Deployment Icon: a card marked with this icon can be used only in a campaign.
  • Skirmish Deployment Icon: a card marked with this icon can be used only in a skirmish.

Skirmish Mission: Anchorhead Bar

Anchorhead Bar — Skirmish Map

The map is printed on the rules sheet and is used by the two Skirmish Mission cards in this pack (see Components and Integration). Its printed markers are:

  • Patron: the red "A" marker and the Patron token.
  • Crate: the blue "B" marker and the Crate token.
  • Extraction Point: marked with an Imperial icon and the value "18B".

Side Mission: Deadly Transmission

Deadly Transmission — Side Mission map. The printed entrances are Alley (06B), Hall (31B), Back Lot (03B) and Cantina (21B).

Deployment and Setup

  • Initial Groups: Imperial Officer, Stormtrooper, Stormtrooper.
  • Reserved Groups: Imperial Officer, Royal Guard.
  • Open Groups: 3.
  • Special Setup: Increase threat by twice the threat level and resolve an optional deployment. Heroes control Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jedi Knight) as an ally.

Event Summary

  • Round 2: High-Value Target
  • Round 6: End of Mission
  • First two doors opened: Guarded Data
  • All relay stations destroyed or all heroes wounded: End of Mission

Mission Briefing

You and Obi-Wan approach the makeshift transmission center where the Imperials are uploading the coordinates. The wise old Jedi says to you, "We must be cautious. Imperial stormtroopers patrol the perimeter. May the Force be with us." He walks forward toward the center, igniting his lightsaber.

  • The door between the Cantina and the Back Lot, and the door between the Hall and the Alley are locked.
  • If there are no Imperial figures on or adjacent to a terminal, a Rebel figure can interact with that terminal to discard it. When all terminals are discarded, open both locked doors.
  • Mission tokens represent relay stations. A Rebel figure can attack a relay station (Health: Threat Level, Defense: 2).
  • The mission ends when all relay stations are destroyed, at the end of Round 6, or when all heroes are wounded.

High-Value Target

At the end of Round 2:

  • Increase threat by the threat level and resolve an optional deployment to the entrance.

Guarded Data

When the first two doors open:

With the final entry code input, the security overrides shut down, and the doors slide open. An officer shouts orders to his guards, "They're here! Protect the relay stations!"

A pair of guards activate their force pikes. They step toward you as the internal defenses activate, and the remaining external Imperials close in around you.

  • Deploy the reserved Imperial Officer and Royal Guard group to the red point.
  • The red deployment point is now active.

The Imperial player chooses 1 of the following:

  • Increase threat by the threat level.
  • Lock all closed doors. A hero can interact with a door to open it.
  • Apply +1 Health to all relay stations.
  • Roll a green die. Each Rebel figure on the Back Lot suffers damage equal to the damage results.

End of Mission

When all relay stations are destroyed:

The final relay station sputters and sparks as you destroy it. As its power fizzles, you see on the view screen that the transmission did not complete. You round up and detain the remaining Imperials, ensuring that Obi-Wan's secret location will remain safe.

  • Heroes receive Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jedi Knight) as an ally.

At the end of Round 6 or when all heroes are wounded:

Retreating from the transmission center, you hear the ominous tone from the relay stations indicating that the data transfer has completed. Troops bear down on your position. You throw yourself in their path as Obi-Wan makes his escape, but it will be hard to keep him safe for long.

  • The Imperial player receives 2 Influence.

Additional Rewards

  • Each player receives 1 XP. Heroes receive 100 credits per hero. The Imperial player receives 1 influence.
