Components and Integration

This pack provides the Leia Organa, Rebel Commander plastic figure that can be used when playing a mission. The other components in this expansion are incorporated as follows:

  • Add the Deployment and Command cards to their supplies.
  • If you own the Return to Hoth expansion, add the Side Mission card to the pool of green Side Mission cards. The heroes can choose this card when building the Side Mission deck at the start of a campaign.
  • If you own the Return to Hoth expansion, shuffle the Skirmish Mission cards into the Skirmish Mission deck. These cards use the "Nelvaanian War Zone" map (see below).

Component Breakdown

  • 1 Plastic Figure (Leia Organa)
  • 3 Deployment Cards (2 Leia Organa, On a Diplomatic Mission)
  • 3 Command Cards (There Is Another, I Can Feel It, Behind Enemy Lines)
  • 1 Side Mission Card (Communication Breakdown)
  • 2 Skirmish Mission Cards (Nelvaanian War Zone)

Deployment Card Restrictions

Some Deployment cards can be used in only one style of play in Imperial Assault. A Deployment card marked with a Campaign Deployment Icon can be used only in a campaign, while a Deployment card marked with a Skirmish Deployment Icon can be used only in a skirmish.

The two Leia Organa (Rebel Commander) Deployment cards in this pack are marked with the Campaign Deployment Icon and the Skirmish Deployment Icon respectively, as shown on the sheet.

Skirmish Attachments

Some skirmish upgrade Deployment cards list the word "Attachment" above their abilities. These cards can be attached to other Deployment cards as follows:

  • When deploying units during skirmish setup, if a player has one or more "Attachment" cards included in his army, he places each of these cards on one of his non-upgrade Deployment cards.
  • Each Deployment card can have only one "Attachment."
  • Abilities on "Attachment" cards apply to all figures in the corresponding group.
  • Many attachments require the group to have a specific trait, such as "TROOPER." Attachments with these restrictions cannot be played on a group that does not have the trait.

When a group with an "Attachment" card is defeated, the opposing player scores VPs equal to the deployment cost of the "Attachment" card in addition to the VPs he scores from the defeated group's Deployment card.

Skirmish Mission: Nelvaanian War Zone

The Nelvaanian War Zone skirmish map is printed on the sheet, with a Command Room marked on the map. It is used with the two Skirmish Mission cards in this pack (see Components and Integration above). The map requires the Return to Hoth expansion.

Map tiles: 01A, 06A, 07B, 08B, 09A, 11B, 12B, 18B, 19A, 19B, 20A, 20B, 21B, 22B, 23A (2), 21A, 24A, 35A.

The sheet prints the Skirmish Mission cards' flavour text only, and no mechanical text for either card appears on the sheet, so none is given here.

Side Mission: Communication Breakdown

The Communication Breakdown side mission map is printed on the sheet. It requires the Return to Hoth expansion.

Map tiles: 05A, 07B, 14A, 17A (2), 20B, 21B; 02A, 05A, 14A (2), 17A, 18A.

Deployment and Setup

  • Initial Groups: Imperial Officer, Probe Droid, Stormtrooper.
  • Reserved Groups: Snowtrooper, Wampa.
  • Open Groups: 3.
  • Special Setup: Increase threat by twice the threat level and resolve an optional deployment. Heroes control Leia Organa (Rebel Commander) as an ally at no threat cost.

Event Summary

  • Round 1: Support Troops
  • Round 3: Wampa Ambush
  • Round 6: End of Mission
  • Rebel figure enters a snow pile: Almost There
  • Communications beacon installed or Leia Organa defeated: End of Mission

Mission Briefing

"We're getting close," Leia assures you as you hike up the mountain into the bitter cold. "The facility is at the peak. It will have the clearest signal."

Your conversation is interrupted by blaster bolts as Imperial troops strike from ambush. Leia sighs. "It can never just be easy, can it?"

  • While Leia Organa is adjacent to a healthy hero, attacks cannot target her and she cannot suffer [damage icon].
  • Neutral mission tokens represent snow piles. Rebel figures must spend 4 movement points to enter a space containing a snow pile. Once per activation, a Rebel figure can test [test icon] to reduce that movement point cost by the number of successes until the end of the activation, to a minimum of 0.
  • Leia Organa can interact with the terminal to install the communications beacon.
  • The mission ends when the communications beacon is installed ([beacon icon]), at the end of Round 6, or when Leia Organa is defeated.

Support Troops

At the end of Round 1:

Further troops arrive from higher on the mountain, aiming their blasters at you.

  • Deploy the reserved Snowtrooper group.

Wampa Ambush

At the end of Round 3:

Amongst the shouts and blasts of the battle, you hear a roar as a fur-covered monster lumbers toward you, sharp teeth glistening.

  • Deploy the reserved Wampa to the red point.
  • Increase threat by the threat level.

Almost There

The first time a Rebel figure enters a space containing a snow pile:

  • The yellow deployment point is now active.
  • Increase threat by the threat level and resolve an optional deployment.

End of Mission

When the communications beacon is installed:

The beacon is installed, and Leia programs the broadcast frequencies. You barricade the facility and blast the remaining Imperials before your pilot returns for an extraction. "You did quite well," Leia says, sounding mildly surprised.

  • Heroes receive Leia Organa (Rebel Commander) as an ally.

At the end of Round 6 or when Leia Organa is defeated:

Leia is blasted in the arm and falls to the ground. Though she protests, you grab her and retreat to an extraction point. No communication system is worth risking the princess's life.

  • The Imperial player receives 2 Influence.

Additional Rewards

  • Each player receives 1 XP. Heroes receive 100 credits per hero. The Imperial player receives 1 influence.

Transcription Notes

  • The sheet's text is read from page images at 250 dpi; no text layer exists. Icons are written as words where the sheet's text makes the meaning plain (threat, health, credits, XP, influence, Round, Rebel, Imperial). Icons whose meaning could not be identified with certainty at the printed size are shown in brackets: the damage icon in the Mission Briefing, the surge (test) icon for the snow-pile test, and the beacon icon for the communications beacon.
  • The Campaign and Skirmish Deployment icons are images on the sheet, shown there as the card's own icon; they are described in words above.
  • The tile lists on the Skirmish and Side Mission maps have rows led by icons. The first row's icon could not be identified with certainty at the printed size, so the rows are given as printed without naming the icons.
  • Card art, the component breakdown images and the tile-list icons are not reproduced; they are not rules text.
  • The sheet's copyright line ("© & TM Lucasfilm Ltd. / © FFG") and map labels other than the Command Room are not reproduced.
