Skirmish Attachments
Some skirmish upgrade Deployment cards list the word "Attachment" above their abilities. These cards can be attached to other Deployment cards as follows:
- When deploying units during skirmish setup, if a player has one or more "Attachment" cards included in his army, he places each of these cards on one of his non-upgrade Deployment cards.
- Each Deployment card can have only one "Attachment."
- Abilities on "Attachment" cards apply to all figures in the corresponding group.
- Many attachments require the group to have a specific trait, such as "TROOPER." Attachments with these restrictions cannot be played on a group that does not have the trait.
When a group with an "Attachment" card is defeated, the opposing player scores VPs equal to the deployment cost of the "Attachment" card in addition to the VPs he scores from the defeated group's Deployment card.
Figure Cost
Each figure in Imperial Assault has a figure cost that may be referenced by abilities and game effects. A figure cost is one of two values:
- If a deployment group has a starting group size of 1, that figure's figure cost is equal to the group's deployment cost.
- If a deployment group has a starting group size of 2 or more, each figure in that group has a figure cost equal to the group's reinforcement cost.
Time Period
In order to allow a more open-ended play experience, the missions in this expansion do not include time periods and can therefore be used in any campaign.
Top Target
Side mission. The map shows the Storage Room and the Cantina; the doors to these two rooms open during play and trigger the events below.
Deployment and Setup
- Initial Groups: Imperial Officer (2), Probe Droid, Trandoshan Hunter.
- Reserved Groups: Greedo (Ambitious Mercenary).
- Open Groups: 4.
- Special Setup: Increase threat by twice the threat level and resolve an optional deployment.
Event Summary
- Round 2: Ambition
- Round 4: Surrounded
- Door to Cantina opens: Inciting Panic
- Door to Storage Room opens: Dead End
- Marked hero escapes or is wounded: End of Mission
Mission Briefing
After arriving at what was supposed to be a Rebel safe area, you hear explosions and the sound of footsteps as the tunnel locks behind you. The Imperials and bounty hunters rush in. One of them points in your direction and snarls, "That one."
- The Imperial player chooses 1 hero. The chosen hero is marked.
- Imperial figures cannot declare attacks targeting the marked hero if he is adjacent to a healthy Rebel figure.
- A hero can interact with a terminal to perform an attribute test based on the terminal's color. Apply -1 surge to the test results if there are 1 or more Imperial figures on or adjacent to the terminal. If the test is successful, the terminal is discarded.
- Red: [attribute icon] or [attribute icon]
- Blue: [attribute icon] or [eye icon]
- If all terminals are discarded, the marked hero can escape through the entrance.
- The mission ends when the marked hero escapes ([escape icon]) or is wounded.
Ambition
At the end of Round 2:
- Deploy the reserved Greedo.
- Apply additional Health to Greedo equal to the threat level. When Greedo declares an attack targeting the marked hero, apply +1 [critical icon] to the attack results.
Surrounded
At the end of Round 4:
- Increase threat by the threat level at the start of each Status Phase.
Inciting Panic
The first time a door to the Cantina opens:
You break into the cantina trying to find the controls to escape through the same secret tunnel that got you in. The bounty hunters pursuing you fire off some blaster bolts into the room, whipping the patrons inside into a violent stampede.
- Increase threat by the threat level.
The Imperial player chooses 1 of the following:
- When a figure on the Cantina performs a test, apply -1 surge to the results.
- The figure who opened the door suffers 4 damage.
- Push the figure who opened the door up to 3 spaces.
Dead End
When the door to the Storage Room opens:
- The red deployment point is now active.
- Increase threat by the threat level and resolve an optional deployment to the red point.
End of Mission
When the marked hero escapes:
You enter the code to open the trapdoor. With blaster bolts whizzing above you, you slip into the secret tunnel, locking the way behind you. After taking a couple of moments to catch your breath, you break into laughter for having eluded capture once again.
- Heroes receive 100 credits per hero.
When the marked hero is wounded:
Greedo and his bounty hunters circle around their quarry. They then load their prisoner onto a stormtrooper transport as blaster fire holds you back. Command eventually engineers a costly rescue, but your friend returns visibly shaken.
- The Imperial player receives Greedo (Ambitious Mercenary) as a villain.
Additional Rewards
- Each player receives 1 XP. Heroes receive 100 credits per hero. The Imperial player receives 1 influence.
Transcription Notes
- The source is a printed rules sheet, so the rules above follow the sheet's section order. The Hangar Bay skirmish map is printed on the sheet and is not transcribed beyond its "Power Cell" key (B1, B2).
- Icons whose names are not printed in the sheet's text are left in brackets rather than named: the two attribute icons on each terminal line, the eye icon on the blue line, the escape icon in the mission-ends line, and the critical icon in the Ambition attack bonus. Read these against the base rulebook's icon key.
- The card-number footers printed on the sheet (collection numbers) are not rules and are omitted.
- The card text for Greedo, Prey on the Weak, the three Command cards, the Contract Gunmen Agendas, the DT-12 Heavy Blaster Pistol and the Hangar Bay Skirmish Mission cards is not on the sheet and is not transcribed here.
