Overview
Star Plus is a game where you aim to empty your hand by discarding your cards. Whether you discard one card or more on your turn, the discarded cards' total must go from 1 to 12 as each player's turn goes on. Discarded cards are worth 1 point each, while all remaining cards in hand at the end of the game are minus points.

How to Play
Discarding Cards
The first player must play a total of 1 at the beginning of the game. He can either:
- discard a 1 card.
- discard several cards for which the total will be 1. For example, two 1 cards and one -1 card. There is no limit to how many cards you can discard to make a total.
e.g. The rulebook illustrates this with three card examples (a single card; two cards; three cards) whose combined total is the one required.
All cards discarded by a player are placed in a pile in front of him. This is his point pile.
Play moves to the left player who must play a total of 2 in the same way, and so forth until 12. Once a player has played a total of 12, the next one goes back to playing a total of 1, and play goes round again.
Play immediately moves to the next player, whose total should be the one you were supposed to play. If he cannot either, then the next player must play it, and so on.
e.g.
- Succeeded in making it 4.
- Failed in making it 5. Draw 2 cards.
- Must make it 5!
Drawing Cards
If you cannot or do not want to play the right total with your cards, you must draw 2 cards from the main deck (1 for a 5–6 player game).
The Black Hole
The Black Hole is triggered when you discard 3 cards or more to make a total.
When you make a Black Hole move, all players from now on must also discard 3 cards or more to make a total. If a player cannot, he must draw 4 cards (3 for a 5–6 player game).
Once a Black Hole move successfully forces a cards draw, the play resumes to basic rules as next player can play as many cards as he wants.
e.g.
- Black Hole!
- Succeeded in making it 4 with more than 3 cards.
- Can't make it 5? Draw 4 cards.
- Resume to basic rule and make it 5.
Special Cards
When you discard a 7, take 2 cards from the point pile of the player on your right and add it to your own. If the player has only 1 card in his pile, take it. If he has none, this card has no effect.
When you discard an 8, take 2 cards from the point pile of the player on your left and add it to your own. If the player has only 1 card in his pile, take it. If he has none, this card has no effect.
When you discard a 9, playing order reverses. For example, it will go counter-clockwise if you are playing in clockwise order.
The Zeus card can only be played on its own. Discard it when you want to skip your turn, even in case of a Black Hole. The next player must play the total you were supposed to.
End of Round
The round ends if either a player no longer has any cards in hand or a player draws the last card from the main deck.
Scoring is done as following:
- 1 point for each card of your point pile.
- −1 point for each card still in hand.
- 5 bonus points if you have no more cards in hand at the end of the game.
Next Round
Keep track of your scores, shuffle all cards and deal 9 cards to each player (8 for a 5–6 player game).
Next round starts from the player to the left of the starting player of the previous round.
Play 3 rounds and add up your points. The player(s) with the highest score wins.
