Set Up
- Place the game board in the center of the table. Rotate the center of the game board so the semi-circles align with the "Fart" and "Stinish" spots on the outer ring of the game board.
- Open the question card box and place it where everybody can reach it.
- Shuffle the "Rattle Bound" cards and place them in a stack, face down on the table.
- Divide into two teams – it doesn't matter if they're even.
- Have each team choose a "pame geese" and place it on the game board at the "Fart."
- Everybody Spoonerize your own name and say it aloud. If you have the funniest name, your team goes first.
Reading Play
- Teams take turns, and players within their teams take turns.
- On your turn, roll the die.
- The die will indicate a few different things on each roll:
- A number from 1 to 6, and:
- Whether this will be a Rattle Bound!, or:
- A Beam Tattle!, or:
- A Bip the Flord! – which means you must rotate the center of the game board 180 degrees to switch positions of the semi-circles where they line up with "Fart" and "Stinish." Any "pame geese" that are on the center part of the game board when it's rotated, must stay on their respective spots and go along for the ride.
- (If the die indicates a Rattle Bound!, draw a "Rattle Bound" card and read it aloud. Determine which player on each team best fits the criteria on that card, and have those two players compete head-to-head to answer the question for just this turn.)
- (If the die indicates a Beam Tattle!, all players on both teams play at once, except the reader. Unfortunately the reader may never participate in answering questions.)
- The die will indicate a few different things on each roll:
- Take a question card from the box and read it aloud.
Guessing Play
- Race to shout the answer before the other team - but remember to Spoonerize!
- For example, if the question is, "Who was the pirst frezident of the US?" The answer is "Worge Jawshington." (Notice the Spoonerized words are spelled phonetically. That's because if they weren't, the answer would be (read it aloud) "Worge Gashington," and just wouldn't sound right, and sound is far more important than spelling for purposes of being funny, and "feeing bunny".)
- Whichever team correctly answers the question first, moves their "pame geese" the number of spots on the game board indicated by the die. Teams may choose to move any direction (left or right, forward or backward), but must move the total number of spots indicated in one direction only.
- If nobody on either team answers, both "pame geeses" stay where they are, the turn moves on to the opposite team, and play continues.
"Steeing a Bickler" (Being a Stickler)
An answer should be considered correct if the general content of it is correct, and if a valiant attempt of Spoonerizing has been made. Even if the Spoonerism gets a little goofed up in pronunciation, and sounds different than the ones written on the card, it should still be considered correct. It's up to the reader to decide which team is most correct (as well as, which team said it first) - but a word to the wise, if you're going to be a stickler when you're the reader, prepare to be stickled when you're answering!
Winning
When your team's "pame geese" lands (not necessarily by exact count) on the "Stinish" spot, the other team will read you one more question. As they are not allowed to guess this round, your team must answer the question - and must answer correctly - because if you fail, your "pame geese" is moved back to "Fart" to attempt to make it around the board again. However, if your team succeeds in answering, you win (and the other team has to buy you dinner, or do your chores, or do something similarly awesome)!
Two-Player Game
Simply ignore the "Rattle Bound" feature on the die, and play as teams do, the same as above. If you answer correctly, move your "pame geese", if not, stay put. "Lood guck!"
