Components

1 game board, 5 dice, 4 x 25 cubes, 1 rulebook

Setup

Place the game board on the table. The playing field is divided into six zones. These zones are divided into squares. Each square on the playing field represents a combination that you can make with 2 to 5 dice. Each player plays with one cube color.

Number of players and cubes per game in the adult version and children's version:

Next to that, put two of your cubes on the game board to keep score. As soon as you pass 99 points, you can then move the cube to the '100' square. The other cube is re-placed on the score track in line with your latest score. Similarly, you move the cube up after 199, 299 and 399 points.

Playing a Round

The player who rolls the highest number with one die starts the game. Play clockwise after that.

  • Roll all five dice. After each throw you choose which dice to set aside. You may then roll the remaining dice again. You may roll the dice up to 4 times (you may also stop earlier). Every new throw, you may reroll the previously set-aside dice again.
  • You then place one cube of your own on the game board on a square that coincides with your dice combination. You can decide which dice to use and which not.
  • If a square is already occupied by a cube of your own or from an opponent, then you cannot place on that square anymore. You will then have to place a cube on another square that coincides with your dice combination.
  • If you cannot place on any square at all, you have to discard one cube. This cube is then no longer in play. After you have placed a cube, or you have discarded one, your turn is over.

Placement of Cubes

The result after your final throw determines where you can place a cube. This is best explained by means of an example:

After four throws you have got three dice showing 4 and two dice showing 2. You can place your cube in the purple zone on the square for "3x4 + 2x2". Since you determine yourself which dice you will or will not use, you can also place your cube, for example, on the square for "3x4 + 1x2" in the blue zone. See figure 2 for an overview of all your options to place a cube corresponding to this throw.

In order to place a cube on a red, purple or silver square you will have to use all five dice. If you wish to place a cube on an orange, green, yellow, blue or gold square, then you will use less than all five dice at the end of your throw(s).

Special Throws

4 in a row (dice showing 1, 2, 3, 4 or 2, 3, 4, 5 or 3, 4, 5, 6). You may place your cube on a gold colored square (the diagonal rows in the green and blue zones). You may only place a cube on a gold colored square if you roll the combination '4 in a row'.

5 in a row (dice showing 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 2, 3, 4, 5, 6). You may place your cube on a silver colored square (the diagonal rows in the purple and red zones). You may only place a cube on a silver colored square if you roll the combination '5 in a row'.

5 of a kind (for example five dice showing 2). You are free to place your cube on any empty square. If this cube yields points, it is worth the number of points belonging to the square you have placed it on.

Scoring

You score points when you have three or more cubes in a row of your own color (horizontally, vertically and diagonally). Three or more cubes of the same color in a row is called a Spexxx. You immediately add up the points on the score track, which encircles the game board. A Spexxx is allowed to cross over all borders of the various colored squares. For each cube in a Spexxx you score points belonging to that square.

Number of points per cube:

SquarePoints per cube in a Spexxx
Orange1 point
Green2 points
Yellow4 points
Blue5 points
Purple7 points
Red12 points
Gold3 points
Silver8 points

These points are also visualised in the legend on the game board.

A cube that is not part of a Spexxx does not yield any points.

With one cube you can complete two or more Spexxxes at the same time. If so, you will receive points for each new completed Spexxx. Consequently, this specific cube counts for two or more times.

For a cube that you add to an existent Spexxx you will only receive the points for the cube that you add in that turn.

In the event that you extend your own Spexxx with two cubes by placing only one cube, you will receive points for both new cubes that you have added to the existing Spexxx. You receive a bonus of five points for creating a Spexxx of minimum five consecutive cubes (see Bonus Points below).

Bonus Points

For a Spexxx of 5 cubes or more you receive 5 additional points.

For a block of 9 cubes of your own (3 x 3) you receive 25 additional points.

End of the Game

The game ends once all players have placed (or discarded) all their cubes. The player with the highest score wins the game!

Children's Version for Ages 8 and Up

For this version you only use the left side of the playing field (orange, green and yellow zone). You roll with four dice up to three times.

Placing the cubes and scoring points is the same as in the adult version. With '4 of a kind' you can place freely.

The game ends once all players have played their cubes. The player with the highest score wins!
