(illustration: 7 ants in different colours, or 5 ants in one colour)
Setup
Shuffle all the anthill cards and lay them out on the table so that their values are visible to all players. In the rest of these instructions these cards are called the anthill.
Shuffle the ant cards and make a face-down stack from them (cards lie face down). Give the ant stack to the oldest player. In the rest of these instructions the ant cards are called ants.
Gameplay
-
The oldest player reveals the first ant from the stack. They do this quickly, so that all players see at the same moment which ant has appeared.
Each ant card shows 2 pieces of information:
- the colour of the ant family
- the value of the card
-
All players try to grab, as quickly as possible, a card in the anthill with the same value as the revealed ant. The player who does this fastest takes the ant and places it in front of themselves, so that all players can see it. Examples are shown on the following pages.
Note! A player may grab only one card from the anthill. If they make a mistake, they cannot change their decision and choose a different card.
-
The oldest player reveals the next card from the top of the stack, and another ant appears. Again, all players try to grab, as quickly as possible, the matching card in the anthill.
Example: An orange ant numbered 16 has appeared. All players try to grab a card of this value in the anthill. The fastest player takes the orange ant 16 and places it in front of themselves.
Note! If an ant appears in the same colour as ants already won, add to its value the number of ants of that colour the player has already won, and only then grab the matching card in the anthill.
Example A: A red ant numbered 15 has appeared. Among the ants already won there are 4 red ones, so players must quickly grab the card with value 19 in the anthill (15 + 4 = 19). The fastest player will win the red ant 15.
Example B: A green ant numbered 11 has appeared. Among the ants already won there is already 1 green ant, so players must quickly grab the card with value 12 in the anthill (11 + 1 = 12). The fastest player will win the green ant 11.
End of the Game
The game ends when any player collects 7 ants in different colours, or 5 ants in one colour.
When the last ant from the stack has been revealed and no player has met the above conditions, the winner is the player who has collected the most ants.
