After an Ambush, is the Crate refilled, and does the stolen barrel count for Crate tile 10?

The Crate space refills with a new tile after you take yours. Resolve in the order printed in the rulebook: Crate cash, new Crate, barrel, Family Member, ship move. The barrel from that same attack is therefore not yet next to a building when Crate 10 pays. The rulebook's worked example shows the barrel being placed first, and the designer has said to just follow the order of operations.
