Get Ready

There are two decks of cards. The blue "Kids" deck is filled with phrases that kids might say to parents (or adults) and should be read by the kids. The red "Parents" deck is filled with phrases that parents might say to kids and should be read by the parents. Keep the cards separate and place them on the table in front of you.

Divide the players into two teams.

We recommend kids versus parents, of course!

Let's Play

  1. On your turn, put your mouthpiece in. (See Inserting the Mouthpiece.) When you are ready to go, flip over the sand timer.
  2. Draw a card from the top of the correct deck and read it out loud. If you are a kid, read the blue cards. If you are a parent, read the red cards.
  3. Your teammates must correctly guess what you're saying in order to earn the card. Repeat the phrase until your teammates successfully guess it. Feel free to "talk" with your hands, but no miming!
  4. Once your team guesses the phrase correctly, put the card in front of you. Draw another card and keep playing until the timer runs out. You can pass on a card if you want, but the other team will earn it. Place it to the side.
  5. After the timer runs out, take out your mouthpiece, keep the cards that your team guessed correctly, and give any passed cards to the other team.
  6. It's now the other team's turn. After each player has taken two turns, the game is over.

Winning

Count up your team's cards. Whichever team has the most cards wins!

In the case of a tie, play again!

Inserting the Mouthpiece

  1. Hold the mouthpiece so that the wider side of the curved wings is closest to your mouth.
  2. Grasp the curved handle on the mouthpiece with both hands.
  3. Slide one wing between your lips and teeth on one side so that it is touching the inside of your cheek. Don't bite down.
  4. Bend the handle so that the other wing is closer to the one that's already in your mouth.
  5. Repeat the sliding motion to insert the second wing.
  6. Release the handle once it's resting comfortably in your mouth.

Note: Use mouthpiece only as indicated in the instructions, and remove from your mouth after your turn is finished.

Caring for Your Mouthpiece

Before the initial use, and after each subsequent use, wash each mouthpiece with soap and water. Make sure they are dry before storing them. We recommend putting them in a resealable plastic storage bag.
